Sylvania Fire Department provides emergency services to the City of Sylvania and surrounding areas. Protecting lives and Property.
The Sylvania Fire Department is located in Sylvania, Georgia. We are a combination fire department. The Department provides emergency services to an initial response area of 5 square miles and automatic aid to the Screven County Fire Department, 5 miles from our station. The department provides mutual aid response to the other areas in the county and neighboring counties.
The department is the smallest Class 2 ISO Fire Dept. in the State of Georgia. The department operates with 7 full time, 6 part time and 19 Volunteer firefighters. Our department has some of the best volunteers in the industry and the department would not be where it is today without this group of dedicated firefighters.
Our mission is to provide the community with the highest quality of fire and rescue services in order to save lives, protect property and control incidents. This will be done through the teamwork of a well-trained experienced group of firefighters and continued education of the community on preventative measures and the use of the latest technology and equipment. It is also our goal to maintain a good rapport with the citizens of Sylvania through community activities. Through this, Sylvania will be a safer and more secure place to live.
