I am saddened by the administrative offices of this public school district. Unkind bus drivers, administrative and even high school counselors looking down on students for reporting threats that effect the entire school. Then when shown proof, by the authorities, do not keep the names confidential of those who reported the incident. Southview taught my kids it was better to keep quiet than to do the right thing. All the work I did, teaching my children it always pays off to do what's right, was undone in an instant. It changed them forever. Not enough staff to handle children and their needs effectively. Some teachers not taking time to get to know the students and their needs.Students declining grades are not addressed or taken seriously. I miss the kindness, respect and care for our children this district used to live by.
This school really did a number on me and my kids. There is very little diversity within the student body. The administrators only care about how their numbers look. They will only provide the bare minimum necessary and only what the law specifies they provide. They don't seem to really care what a student needs whether specially abled or not. And their hot lunch menu is loaded with sugar and unhealthy foods like cheesy bread, bosco sticks, funnel cakes dutch waffles, cinnamon toast crunch. Not to mention, they have huge class sizes in the elementary grades even after redistricting kids. Redistricting moved kids away from schools they can walk to to schools where they have to ride the bus. All of their greatschools rating have dropped since we moved into the district.
They do not care about your children. They will not take any actions to protect your child in their schools. The ignorance of the entire administration is just astounding.
I love our schools. However trying to reach anyone by phone at the admin office is very difficult. All persons attempted go right to voicemail. Very frustrating.
Look I just want to enroll my children went on website and won't let me start account also won't give me anyone's email and says can't go in build only phone call my phone will be off for 2 weeks I'm really upset with the website even during this covid bs everything should be better!
Schools are great. The superintendent is weak link in Sylvania
People here work for children, and it's important work
