T. F. Green Airport (MBTA station)

Description

T. F. Green Airport is a train station and intermodal facility in Warwick, Rhode Island on the Northeast Corridor, adjacent to T. F. Green Airport. It extends the MBTA Commuter Rail Providence/Stoughton Line from Boston, which previously only went as far as the Providence train station. The station was completed in October 2010 and MBTA service began on December 6, 2010. On November 14, 2011, service expanded to 10 weekday trains in each direction. Trips to and from Boston's South Station take 75 to 90 minutes. The station's primary purpose is to serve local commuters to Providence and Boston, but it will also bring passengers and employees to and from the airport. The station also makes it possible to move between T.F. Green and Logan International Airport in about two hours via subway and commuter rail. Amtrak trains cannot and do not serve the station because the track that serves the single platform is not electrified. Funding was not provided for the necessary track and electrical work, although long-range plans call for this infrastructure to be provided.HistoryA state study of rail corridors was completed in 1994 and the Northeast Corridor was designated as the highest-priority line for commuter service to Providence. An addendum in 1995 projected daily ridership from a Warwick station to be 454 in 2000 and 529 in 2020. An operations plan was released in 2001, and environmental assessment was completed in 2003.

For what it is it is a wonderful station good parking protected heated seating a great connection to T F Green airport and just a all around clean station 5/5
Very convenient, well run airport. Needs to open more restaurants. Nothing open prior to security. Never wait more than 5 minutes in TSA Pre line. Escape Lounge is nice. If renting car, long walk. Long walk to train line too.
Pretty nice airport but not the best that I have been to. The thing i do not like is the long security lines.
One of the only station that has heat AND shelter the system
Great: Water bottle fill stations, baggage scale *outside of* baggage check, nursing rooms, service animal relief area. Clean. Good: Smallish airport, easy hour train ride from Boston. Bad: Lack of charging stations, rare outlets, no hangers for carry-on inside of bathroom stalls ew! Nobody wants to put their carry on on the floor!. Mixed bag but still prefer over the chaos of BOS!
Small easy terminal to navigate as it’s just one long stretch. Check in went like clockwork- super friendly staff. Car rentals are located in another location off site but there is a walking bridge from the terminal to the car rental. It’s quite long So if you’re not and walk her there are alternate options.
It's been 30 years since I was here last, and the airport is lovely. Easy access to car rentals, parking, security, everything you need in an airport :-
Convienant access to the airport. The platform is attached to the parking garage which is connected to the airport via an enclosed elevated walkway. It is a bit of a walk to get to the terminal, though. Times for the train to Boston are not that frequent in the middle of the day, though.
Easy to get to if you know Warwick. About 50% of my Uber drivers know what I mean when I say TF Green train station or some variation. Otherwise convenient and no problem.
Very convenient. Just check the timetables before you count on using it, because the train times can be odd. Also, there is no weekend service.
