It was a convenient location for us however the mosquitoes were awful!!! I have never been to a campground that didn’t spray to control the mosquitoes. The cabin was not clean, the bathroom/shower was disgusting we actually made a trip home to shower a couple times during our stay. They have many activities for the kids which was nice and internet for an extra $5.00 a day.
Me an my two Sheppard Huskys had an excellent 10 night 11 day stay, There's a very nice, Friendly Staff , the bathrooms and showers were absolutely amazing, the cleanliness and periodic upkeep by the staff was above and beyond any other campground we've ever been to. I highly recommend to all campers out there weather your tenters, cabin renters and RV Campers to experience Ta Ga Soke Campground.... !!! 5 Stars ? YES !! 10 stars YES. !!! Thank you Ta Ga Soke and staff , we had a very enjoyable visit...
Had to cancel our reservation. Gave them 7 day notice and they have a 15 day cancel policy! So I still get charged over $50! We will now NOT be rebooking with them! Unfortunate! Most places have a 7 day policy, given that it was on a holiday weekend I know that they will book that spot.
Our DIL had a volleyball tournament in nearby Sylvan beach and they were staying with us.I told the person when I made reservations this but they still charged our son and his wife $6 pp per nite to stay with us.The place is not worth that. Many unkept trailers make the place look uninviting.Since we didn’t spend much time here because of the tournament we didn’t use the any of the facilities .Won’t return if in that area again.
They don't make much effort in the upkeep of this campground or to keep customers happy. Looks rundown and the showers/bathrooms are pretty bad. Toilet seats don't fit and fall off every time they are used. Showers cost $. It was only visiting our family that made it fun. Our neighbor the last night of our stay told us how he stays there twice a year to visit his family and reserves the same area full hookup site every time. They didn't honor his reservation and put him in a spot with no hookups and not really big enough for his camper. I would have gone full KEN on that situation!! That's bad customer service. Overall we enjoyed our stay and our site. But they can and should do better.
Oh my ... where do we start! Pros: Beautifully mature trees throughout the park with lovely foliage for the end of the year. Several playgrounds for kids that looked to be fairly safe to play on. Easy check-in and out with polite staff at the front desk. It was fairly cheap for a holiday weekend/3-night stay. Check-in time is 3p, but check-out is 2p which was really nice and relaxing for us. Cons: First of all, we have a 43'-trailer and we let them know this when when we scheduled it. It is thoroughly annoying to have to wait to get your receipt for booking in the mail instead of email or I'd have taken a text message. We also were not made aware before we arrived there was no wifi for free although it says it listed in the wifi connections. They charge $4.99/4-devices every day. Once we arrived, the site was only big enough for about a 25' trailer on a loop that was extremely hard to navigate due to all the vehicles parked caddywhompus throughout the loop. Yes ... we hit something in the dark due to this. Additionally, damn near everyone full-timers in the park was drunk. The staff were nice enough to move us to a larger spot; however, one of the main reasons we wanted to come here was the proximity to the lake so the kids could fish. We bought firewood from the office upon arrival. The firewood was green as if they removed trees, split it, and left it damp/unseasoned. There were no picnic tables at the campsites although we saw plenty of them stacked and/or broken down, no grates to cook over the fire rings, and the rings were at the very front of the site - no where near the entry of a standard camper. Our camper has an automatic levelling system; however, for those that don't, it will be a huge pain to level your camper side to side. Our wheels on one side weren't even touching the ground. The park is off of Sylvan Beach. It is poorly maintained and we are grateful we didn't bring the boat as that the boat launch was nothing but sand around and guaranteed we would have gotten stuck. The park looks like a cross between a run-down trailer park and a refugee camp with a lot of uncared for campers, unkempt lakes with green duckweed skimming the surface that hasn't been cleaned in forever. There are cabins and these grounds looked decent. We didn't see the bathrooms as that the doors were locked. Let's talk about the other campers: Most are seasonal long-timers. The ones we talked to were nice and polite during the day. At night, it was a whole different ball game. They were drunk, loud, had a loud speaker/karaoke machine blaring until past quiet hours, and seemed to ask A LOT of personal questions that made us feel really uncomfortable. If we, as weekenders, had acted like they had, there would have been all kinds of complaints and the cops called. All in all, this would have been a good "passing through" kind of campground if you just need to hook up for the night and keep going. We would probably never return or recommend to anyone else.
I am proud to say I am a seasonal camper here. Absolutely love the people and camping community!Service: 5/5
Love camping here been coming here for 12years. But they REALLY need new toilets, in all bathrooms. It's really my only complaint. Otherwise I'd give them 5 stars. UPDATE. At camp and can excitingly say they have finally updated the bathrooms/toilets. Yesss. Adding my 5th star
ABSOLUTE TRASH CUSTOMER SERVICE. Sharon is a horrible person to speak with. Have a family trying to come camping. Was told nobody under 21 allowed on the campsiteonly 1 person in the party was 19 and wanted to come with his family. apparently that was unacceptable to this place. Absolutely trash how this situation was handled. Old lady that doesn’t know how to speak to somebody or help anybody. Will never be going and will make sure to never recommend such a place. Disgraceful. Asked to speak to supervisor and get told “this is where you call for reservations”….
I love camping there, not your average campground, fun things for the family of all ages to do during the weekends. Prices are on the higher side especially if you plan to rent a cabin, but overall really enjoyed it there. People there are all friendly Playground: Could be more up to date, should make it larger due to alot of kids use it Restrooms: Restrooms also have the showers in it. Hot water sucks and whoever is in charge of cleaning it needs to do a better job. Dog-friendliness: Animal friendly love it
