The concierge told me my Kn95 mask was cotton and made me wear theirs. That irritated me. Signage is awful. From P2 the floor you want for the main entrance is on the 2nd floor. I'm not even sure how to get to the stairs from the elevator if you accidently go to the 1st floor, so we just waited for the single slow elevator. A volunteer walked us across the hospital to where we needed to go, which was helpful. The nurses and physician we worked with in the MRI department were awesome. Really that's what's important. Pack your patience.
After several hours of racing heartbeats, shortness of breath and pain, I was told: "Yes, you have a history of heart problems BUT the episodes aren't lasting past 2 minutes. Your ICD will shock you if it was a threat. Our cardiologists suggest you stay with your CHI doctors - take up care with your primary doctor - we're going to let you go home." After requesting the results of my cat scan, I am informed - "Humm, let me see - well - you have nodules in your lungs but follow up with your primary care physician. I ask about the blood clot in neck area where I was experiencing extreme pain. Again, I was told I would not be admitted and should see my primary care doctor within two days. Mind you - I went to Urgent Care for abdominal pain and shortness of breath and lethargy. I was shortly transported from there to TG ED. I was discharged with an abnormal BP reading and this isn't even the whole story!!! To sum it all up - Go home - try not to die before someone/anybody can see you was the message I gathered. Thanks TG!!! Lost cause. CHI was hacked. No available record or history. Lost all appointments I had for months. In addition, it appears priority for rooms were given to those deemed 'reputable.' I overheard several nurses talking while I lay exposed in the hall with little attention or discretion. I don't believe I was taken seriously. I understand doctors and nurses may have been overwhelmed especially after the Pandemic,; but, care should not be compromised nor should certain status take precedence ...
I think everyone's expectations are way too high..... these places are under staffed and that's adds to the problem. No one wants to work and the ones that do and try get the short end of the stick. It is not the patients fault that they are short but it is also not the worker who is there fault either. Have some grace people!
My spine pain was do bad, it shot down the right side of my leg. I can't stand or walk longer than 1 minute max. Dr ran a couple of tests. Basically shrugged his shoulders, and sent me home. No wheelchair nor help. It took me a long time to exit, as I had to take many breaks. Did doctors and nurses see? Yes. Did they help? Not 1. A janitor saw my distress and panicked. Literally ran for a wheelchair, and wheeled me all of the way outside. Pain is still beyond a 10. Nothing prescribed for anything. My blood pressure was so high, it was almost 200. Again, nothing done.
Slowest hospital. In 4 hours only called 1 person back to be seen. Mind you this is in the baby er. Seriously do better
Tacoma general hospital I have a few things that I am peeved about with your service and bedside manner my nana was a transfer from gig harbor all day she waited for food and no one answered no doctor had seen her all day and it at least took 10 to 15 minutes to answer her call light and when it was answered it was rushed and unable to understand what they were saying and then you tell my mother that she can't stay with my nana when she has barely had any care all day?? And has to stay in the er on her dollar? Not only is this poor customer service but this has been one of the worst experiences in a while
ER nurses and Providers need training, too much USUALLY IT DOESNT MEANING TOO MANY ASSUMPTIONS AND ITS BEEN SEVERAL TIME THAT THOSE ASSUMPTIONS ARENT RIGHT AND THEY DENIED SWABBING CAN I PLEASE, request that swabbing is properly disclosed the testing pathogens before and during testing Seems misleading to say it’s all good when they only tested for 3 pathogens and they don’t disclose this
After complications from a heart cath procedure, I found myself in the ER on 3/21. 3 vascular surgeries later, one done emergency style to save my life...I was on the road to recovery. It was a long stay 3/21 to 4/4 but I can tell you that the ENTIRE staff was nothing but spectacular. I spent time in the Cardiac ICU, the Cardiac Care Unit, and the Tele units...every nurse, doctor, or worker was friendly, professional, and made a very difficult time in my life less harrowing. There are too many to name as individuals...it was truly a team effort. Thank You!
Make sure you'll ask the front desk first if there is a students because you gonna feel worst than you are. Nobody of them knows how to put the IV needle. They were fishing for my vein and caused huge hematoma, has swollen arm for another three days, never had any other medical personnel having problems finding my veins. Asked for reposition of the needle, the nurse started to press right on the needle even right after I told her to stop because it hurts. Horrible place. Never afraid of anything like that but never again with this place. If possible, go to St. Joseph or etc.
I hate that I've had to go here twice this year, but both times I've received excellent care and would absolutely send any of my friends or family here. Thanks to all the ER staff
