Sixteen year old Salvatore Talamo left his home town of Alia, Sicily in 1959 bound for American with the dream of making a better life for himself.
My husband’s first job here in America was with his uncle’s meat company doing everything from sweeping to truck driving... even chasing cattle. After six years, Salvatore saved enough money to buy his first truck and started his first business. Many companies followed, including one that produces the finest cheese products in the world.
The Talamo family recipes have been handed down for many generations. Talamo Foods now calls the South San Francisco Bay Area home, where we proudly craft our cheese - from our kitchen to yours!
