My wife and I had dinner here at 7 pm on a Monday night during the first half of July 2023. The place was pretty empty. That was good because there's not a lot of parking spots, and no nearby stores to park in. We later learned from our server that on weekends people often have to park on the grass. The outside is not particularly inviting. When I saw the neon Coors Light sign in the window, I thought this was going to be a sports bar joint. I was wrong. Yes, there is a bar with multiple TVs inside, but there is also a separate seating area for non bar patrons. There are also a few private tables alongside the front of the restaurant, and there is a partial glass wall separating them from the bar, so they are nice and quiet. We sat in one of those. The bar was not real busy that night and neither was the restaurant, so it was nice and quiet to talk. I imagine it would be quite different on the weekend, and our server told us so. Service was good. There is an extensive menu, and all the dishes are very moderately priced. Our dinners came with delicious Italian bread and salads and a side of our choosing at no extra cost. The pierogi appetizer was delicious, the chicken piccata was very tender and tasty, and the chicken/shrimp/filet mignon dinner with Romano sauce was wonderful. Portion sizes were nice, though not overwhelming. The pinot Grigio available was good and not super expensive. Bottom line. This is a very good casual dining restaurant, very moderately priced, and with a huge selection of dishes. I do think the food is a notch below some much more expensive restaurants we have gone to, but is a very good value for what you get. This is a nice alternative to a fine dining restaurant. We will probably be back the next time we vacation at the shore.
The flounder almondine over risotto was excellent. Beer on tap and cocktails first rate. Server was very friendly and efficient. I liked this place. Haven't been here since before the pandemic but I'm glad I went back.Food: 5/5
Tally-Ho is a local Italian fine dining restaurant that is popular with local retirees. It's a bit cliquish. No hostess to greet me. No welcoming orientation. Just a bunch of servers bustling around. The food actually is pretty good, but I expected better service for the price. This is not a very tourist friendly restaurant. It clearly caters more to the local crowd and that's OK. I will skip this restaurant next time I'm traveling through New Jersey. Also, the dining area is relatively small and there is limited parking.
Sat down to eat. Waited 10 mins before we were talked to. We're giving the wrong menus. When we finally got our drinks and the right menus, the glasses were covered in crud. The prices were crazy high. We ultimately left without getting our entrees. Would not recommend.Service: 2/5
Impressive range of choices of traditional Italian entrees. Food quality and service were acceptable and modest, as were the prices. Not much atmosphere here.Parking spacePlenty of parkingParking optionsFree parking lot
Wow wow wow! The food is absolutely amazing. Come with a huge appetite. Definitely get the escargot with garlic bread and get an extra side bread to dip. Chicken and sausage Murphy with cherry peppers was phenomenal and enough for three people. Can’t go wrong with anything you order. A hidden gem on 33 for sure!
Had dinner with my wife and son. The french onion soup was extremely salty. Not edible. The chicken and sausage scarpariello was very strange and not what I am accustomed to with this meal. It came with a very oily balsamic sauce. My wife asked the hot sausages but they weren't hot at all. Maybe they put the wrong sausages. The chicken was extremely dry. Not good. My wife basically left the whole dish. They offered to box it to take home but we didn't want it. The stuffed sole was edible but not great. The stuffing was supposed to crab and shrimp but it was mostly breadcrumbs. The stuffing was the largest portion of the plate. All in all, a very poor experience.
Mediocre food and horrible service - nothing about this place makes me want to return. Had a 6:30 reservation and when we arrived we were told there was no table available despite our reservation… might be 20 min wait. Finally seated at 6:55. Ordered appetizers and meals. Appetizers took almost 45 mins to come out. Never got our dinner until 8:45… TWO HOURS AFTER ORDERING. Our server couldn’t care less. Drinks were never refilled, and we had to ask multiple times before anything we needed was brought to us. Food was average at best. It was our first time here and I will not return.
Recently went to Tally Ho for a birthday dinner . The food was delicious and moderately priced . Service was very good too . I will be going back for sure !Food: 5/5
We loved our experience at this place. Food was off the chain. We had the chicken Parm which was excellent and I had the filet mignon. I have nothing to complain about until we hit the restrooms. First of all they need a good cleaning with bleach and a thorough cleaning under the rim of the toilet bowl and the actual bowl, it was yellowed and really in need of some major soft scrub with bleach cleaning. Both bathrooms need a total overhaul as they are dated and worn out looking. And this is a real turn off. I was really shocked with the bathroom conditions and so was my boyfriend. It is a shame because we would have gone back there but this really put a damper on the experience which was otherwise stellar. also the prices were very reasonable and they included a lot with the food.
