I have a doctorate degree in marriage and family therapy from Virginia Tech and specialize in treating youth dealing with difficult issues including self-harming behaviors and other debilitating symptoms or issues. I have 13 years of experience and have provided services in many capacities including inpatient, outpatient, psychiatric triage, substance abuse treatment, and medical family therapy. I have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), medical family therapy, and intensive evidence-based treatments. I am laid back and provide a down to earth yet no-nonsense approach to therapy and look forward to speaking with you!

I incorporate creative activities and evidence-based methods into traditional "talk therapy" for a fun outside-the-box approach to treatment. Together, we will work toward your goals exploring thought patterns and new ways to cope with distress. I am a warm, relaxed, and supportive clinician. I have a doctorate degree in clinical psychology and over 10 years of experience in the field. I have sought out specialized training in trauma, sexually exploited youth, eating disorders, addictions, and behaviorally challenging youth. I specialize in providing therapy and assessment services to adolescents and young adults, however work with individuals of all ages.

*SELISHA NELSON, MS, Predoctoral Intern
Selisha Nelson is currently completing her internship as a final requirement to completing her doctoral degree in the clinical psychology program at Walden University. She holds a Master's of Science in Psychology. Selisha has 6 years of experience working with youth, adolescents, and adults providing individual, family, and couples therapy in the inpatient, outpatient, and community setting. Psychological assessments are provided as well. Selisha has obtained advanced training in trauma treatment which includes various modalities such as art and play therapy. She completed her practicum experience at Panic, Anxiety, and Depression Center in Richmond, VA. She has experience working with depression and anxiety with a particular interest in treatment of trauma related issues.
