I began my Argentine tango journey at the Tango Room Studio about two years ago, taking classes on Thursdays with the wonderful duo, Julie and Angel. From the very first lesson, they managed to make me fall head over heels in love with Argentine tango. Their incredible teaching skills, warm-hearted personalities, and boundless passion for the dance form created an inspiring and enjoyable learning experience. Angel's sense of humor added an extra layer of joy to each class, making it an absolute pleasure to attend. Since my first lesson, I've become a part of a very special tango community at Tango Room Studio. The studio's ambiance and sense of camaraderie among teachers and students have truly made it feel like a home away from home. The growth I've experienced in my tango journey wouldn't have been possible without the support and encouragement from this beautiful community. Tango Room Studio has classes every night, and each night is led by different skilled and passionate teachers. The diversity in their teaching styles and approaches keeps different night of the week exciting and challenging. If you're looking for a place to learn Argentine tango that offers top-notch instruction, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and a passionate community of dancers, Tango Room Studio is the place to be. Wonderful floor so easy on the knees. Tango Room offers top notch classes with international dance teachers. It is the go to place on Saturday night if you dance tango. If you don’t, you should check out their beginners classes and get into it. Julie and Angel are wonderful people!
The Tango room is the heart of the LA tango community. We have enjoyed Julie’ and Angel’s hospitality for 20 years! We have seen numerous world class tango dancers perform there! The Tango Room, Julie and Angel. Where to begin. They are an institution for the Argentine Tango community, not only in Los Angeles, but worldwide. This couple is so so special. They have devoted their lives to the Tango, the lifestyle, the sharing, inclusivity, even the food! Their attention to detail at the Milonga, the time they take to discuss the culture, code of conduct, even the restrooms have details about Tango! They embody the dance, they are the dance, they are so beloved worldwide by instructors AND students. Tango can be intimidating but it will change you. We as a global community are protective of Julie and Angel. They are Tango.
The Tango Room is not only the best place to learn tango in LA, but it also offers a unique opportunity to meet wonderful people and become part of a tight-knit, friendly, caring, and highly diverse community, which eventually becomes family to many. The owners are the kindest and most welcoming people.
The Tango Room is near and dear to my heart. My family is from Argentina but I was born/raised here in California and once I took up tango, I was hooked. It didn’t take long before I discovered The Tango Room and it literally became my second home. I started there as a beginner but progressed quickly and over the years I even got to assist, teach, and perform there. Julie and Angel go above and beyond to make their milongas feel like something special, like a little piece of Buenos Aires. It’s clearly a labor of love for both of them.
The Tango Room is the most authentic Buenos Aires milonga experience in Los Angeles. The oldest run milonga, the organizers Julie & Angel have a passion for tango that enriches every event at the dance center. From the workshops that are usually conducted by highly respected Argentine instructors to the Thursday night pot-lucks that foster community. No establishment has done more for authentic Argentine Tango in Los Angeles than The Tango Room.
I've spent 12 years on and off at this establishment. They've seen me grown from a beginner way over their head to a respectable person in the dance community. Julie and Angel have been very influential to me both in dance and in character.
