Taylor Farmer's Market, presented by Beaumont Health System, will reopen from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays beginning June 1, 2018.
The Taylor Farmer’s Market presented by Beaumont Health System is now closed for the season. We look forward to opening back up in spring 2018. The market is located inside the Sheridan Center Open Air Pavilion in Heritage Park. The market returned in 2015 after being absent for three seasons, and was roundly considered an overwhelming success.
Market Manager Thom Ouellette emphasizes the friendliness and grassroots feeling of the market. Ouellette's aim is to make the "Taylor Market Experience" the best that it can be for vendors, visitors and sponsors. Unlike other markets in the surrounding areas, the Taylor marketplace includes themed days, raffles and parties for vendors and other giveaways.
"We want to create the best possible experience for anyone working or attending our market," he said. “Based on what we accomplished last season, we have one of the best markets in the region, and certainly one of the best facilities in which to hold a market. Inside the pavilion, we usually will not get rained out, and our parking and traffic patterns are very attractive. And our vendors were tremendous.”
Vendors reported strong sales across the board and customers attending the market appeared to enjoy the experience.
While free public parking is available directly in front of the Sheridan Center, vendors have their own parking area on the north side of the building. Restrooms are available inside the center. The City is planning to resurface and improve the floor of the Sheridan Center before the market opens.
An inline roller hockey rink has been installed on the east side of the building and a new water park splash pad and children's plays cape on the south end of the building.
