Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim is a unique Conservative congregation in Cranford, with members from Westfield, Scotch Plains, and other Union County towns.



"For more than 100 years, Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim TBEMC has provided for the needs of the Jewish community of Union County. As a Conservative, Egalitarian congregation, we are committed to the beauty of traditional Judaism while being a fully inclusive and modern congregation. Our Religious School teaches students from pre-K to B'Nai mitzvah. Our members come to us from Cranford, Westfield, Clark, Roselle Park, Scotch Plains, Elizabeth, Garwood, and all over Union County. TBEMC is unique in offering a Sustaining Pledge Model to lower the barriers for membership. We want you to come and visit. Let us welcome you and show you what makes TBEMC special."

When I came here, for an event, I thought the synagogue was mostly pretty under average. The synagogue was clean, everywhere, there was nowhere a mess where I looked. How the sanctuary looked was completely strange. When I needed to grab the Siddur, holy book, I had to reach out to the seat in front of me. They should be more arranged. It's too small. There's only a few rooms in the entire synagogue. One room was a mess. I was later kicked out. I could see why. It's overall nothing special, and there was no one who attended besides the vent I was part of.
Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim is the heart of the Jewish Community in Union County. While it is celebrating it's 100th anniversary it is forward thinking, welcoming, spiritual and always looking for new individuals and families to join in learning and celebrating our tradition.

Great place to get your religion on in this conservative synagogue. Friendly rabbi and congregation.
