I was visiting Christian friends in Lawrence and needed to feel Jewish on a Friday night ...so about 4pm. I called Temple Israel and asked if I could come for Shabbat service. The RABBI answered the phone and said ""OF COURSE COME"..I was impressed enough by the sound of the service "it lasts about an hour",come dressed very casually","a bunch of us usually go out to eat after services ", "it is held in a church" THAT I HAD TO GO AND LOOK SO I TOOK AN UBER from Lawrence to Kansas City about 50$and I am so glad I did. the people were warm and friendly, and about 8 of us went to a great Mexican place for supper.I wish my home comgregation was more like that.
The outside structure was more than enough to let you know that the people of this temple do indeed praise God, and that they have been a success in doing so. They were very affectionate and caring for people even outside their temple. I trim the trees and the bushes, and they offered me water, and a prayer and God knows I needed both thank you. God bless Israel and America.
