Mr. Hartsoe is a 1985 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law. He began his legal career as a Federal Prosecutor handling environmental cases in Federal Court throughout the Southeast. Hartsoe was later a Senior Partner in a large law for ten years firm before forming his own firm. After just one year, the Hartsoe Law Firm, P.C. expanded their operation and moved into the newly renovated Hartsoe Law Building. Hartsoe served for many years on the board of the Tennessee Association for Justice (Tennessee Trial Lawyers), for six years as a board member of the Foothills land Conservancy, and on the boards of the Wellness Community Cancer Support Network and Town Hall East. Hartsoe has coached little league baseball and club soccer for his three sons and operates a small family farm located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountain national Park. Hartsoe is an avid biker, paddler, hiker and gardener.
