Memorials ~ Mixing ashes with glass <3

Description

A student and rental oriented shop, with a mission of making glassblowing & flameworking available to the community and beyond. The public is always invited into our studio, where we have a large gift shop, and offer free tours during our open hours. @glassmemorials (ashes in glass) are respectfully made here as well.

"We are a women-owned and operated private glassblowing studio located in the heart of the Monadnock Region. We specialize in thoughtfully handcrafted Glass Memorials which are created by infusing cremains into glass pieces. We also have a wide range of unique products that are for sale through our virtual gift shop. In addition, we open up our studio space in Jaffrey for private lessons and experienced renters to share in our love of glass art."

My husband and I did the poppy class. There was a lot of hands-on repetition throughout the class and our flowers turned out pretty decent. For $85 a person I do wish there was more instruction. We spent like 3 mins watching a quick demo and then the instructor did other things around the studio. We did have fun though and are thinking of doing another class.
Absolutely love this place. They offer great classes and are always sure helpful with all things glass
Loved it! We make little glad ducks and had do much fun! Our instructor was personable and a lot of fun!!
Terrapin is an arts glass shop which have many small and medium sized hand made glass pieces for gifts and decorations. They offer classes in glass blowing and offer shop time for experienced artists. We attended a beginner's class led by one of the owners. She was very pleasant and a great teacher.
Great glassblowing & flameworking studio. Inspiring group of people & inspiring work. Open house night with live glassblowing is wonderful!
Small and quaint, mother/daughter team. Their glass ornaments are just lovely in a vast array of colors. Price points are very reasonable for the quality of workmanship. The necklaces reminded me of Italian glasswork. Got a few Christmas gifts and service was done with a warm smile.
Terrapin has quickly become one of my favorite places to spend my free time! I absolutely cannot get enough of it. Early into 2021 I decided it was time I get back into making glass beads after over a decade hiatus I hadn't had a kiln and several of my creations broke so I put it down shortly after starting I searched across the state and decided to give the Bead making class at Terrapin a try. As soon as I got there, the owner/instructor sat with me and asked what I was looking to take away from the class. I previously mentioned I had some experience so it was wonderful to have her immediately opening lines of communication in an effort to get both of us on the same page. She refreshed my memory about bead basics, ran through a demo, answered all the questions I had, watched and gave tips as I made my first few, then let me create. After that first class I knew this was the environment I wanted to be in to grow in the world of glass. Everyone I've met at Terrapin has been warm and welcoming. I've brought friends and family there to take classes of various types and everyone has left with a smile, having enjoyed the atmosphere, and eager to see the end result of their creations. This small business takes pride and care in what they do, and are very accommodating. I love going here.
Nice experience, nice people and decent atmosphere. Defiantly something different and unordinary. The only downsides, it’s a tad disorganized; you don’t so much do any of the glass work yourself, it’s more hold our hand and they do it. Which I get because it can be dangerous, but I felt like a baby. Unfortunately I don’t think I’d recommend this place, not worth the price.
Its funny , It’s hard to find words for something that has so much meaning. You can see how beautiful the orbs are. I lost my dog who I loved more then myself. These orbs have a little of him inside , so they bring me a little glimmer of happiness and a world of sorrow.
We booked an hour to make caterpillars and had a great time. We were shown what to do and then were free to attempt reproducing them. It felt like a glass version of nailed it but that just meant our caterpillars were all the more charming. With what was left of our time we were free to make little pendants/trinkets. It was a great first experience
