The sales person and financial person were nice and helpful when trying to get the same but as soon as I got the camper home the battery was already dead. They gave us an inspection and said it had been gone through. Asked if they would replace the battery as it literally was less than a week and they refused since I did not sign a warranty or service contact. I understand that I bought a used camper but when I spend as much as I did and they said they inspected it to make sure everything is functional I didn't expect to have to buy a battery already. So the service is good before and during sale but all customer service stops once the sale is done.
Our salesperson Patrick was amazing to work with! Other than that our camper is junk! We bought a 2022 Sunset Trail Ultra Lite. There are so many things wrong with it. They should probably take prepping the camper alittle more serious! Our neighbor bought the same one 2 weeks before us and are having the same issue. The manufacturer shouldn't have even let those campers leave the warehouse. Will never buy another! Made so cheap and it shows!
I purchased a 2016 holiday rambler ambassador from Tarrytown RV in June. Prior to buying it spoke with my sales person Andrew several times, and no less than three times, He assured me that this unit would be gone over with a fine tooth, comb, and everything would be working when I drove it off the lot. Almost 4 months later everything in the motorhome is now working. After having to spend this much time and an extra $2500 to get it that way. Long story short there was no way the dealership went through this motorhome with a fine tooth comb to make sure everything worked beforeI I drove it off the lot I was lied to! Spoke to a gentleman by the name of Rob who told me he was a manager in sales. Told him the story he called me back and told me they couldn’t verify what I told them. I asked Rob if he spoke to my sales person he said he no longer works there. I said imagine that. I wouldn’t trust these people with anything. If they really wanted to get to the bottom of it, I’m sure they still have Andrews phone number and would be able to reach out to him and ask him the question. It was not over 100° the day I picked this motorhome up it was in the 90s… there was no air coming out of the vents which told me it had to be something simple… your man tried to argue with me and tell me that it was OK no, it was not OK… the long and short of it. I did buy it, knowing that the AC didn’t work the way that it was supposed to. When I got it home, I simply took the cover off and changed the filter, instantaneously it started blowing air through the vents and cooled this unit down nicely. It is not a matter of He said she said Andrew flat told me everything in this unit would work when I drove it off your lot. He assured me three different times that this unit would be gone through and thoroughly inspected to make sure everything worked. It was not gone through and you did not make sure everything worked. Again, my sales person by the name of Andrew that no longer works there told me that when I drove this unit off the lot everything would work. As far as he being irreverent really? How can he be irrelevant when he was my sales person” employed by Terrytown RV at the time”and he told me that everything in this unit would work when I drove it off the lot call him and ask him. As to the question of whether you offered to let me out of the deal, the day I came to pick it up, you did offer to let me out of the deal for the specific reason of the air conditioner. The only thing I was dissatisfied with was the air conditioner the day I pickrd it up… I figured it was something simple because it was blowing cold air at the air conditioner, but it wasn’t coming out the vents… again it was a clogged filter is all it was… quit, trying to beat around the bush and blame everything on me, own up to the fact that I was promised a service that I did not receive. What I paid for this unit and what you sold me this unit for is irrelevant.
Let me start off by saying what a great RV dealership! I started the purchase of my 2021 Avalanche 378bh in April 2021. No one could even come close to Terry Town's price, so it made the 350 mile trip well worth it. My sales rep. Jeremy C. was great. He was always quick to respond to my messages and answer my questions. When I spoke with him over the phone it was like speaking to a long time friend Jeremy kept me up to date on the status of my camper throughout the building process. Finally it came time to make the 350 mile trip to pick up this beauty. I arrived at the dealership in the morning and was greeted by Jeremy, who showed me around. The dealership was nice ,clean and the staff was friendly. I had an issue with the fifth wheel hitch I brought so Adam in service was able to set me up with exactly what I needed. Adam also assisted me with purchasing the additional accessories I wanted and made sure when all my paperwork was done, everything was ready to go. Was there a few bumps in the road during my purchase? There sure was, but the staff at Terry Town did an absolutely outstanding job making everything right. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and my choice to travel the extra miles to make my purchase at Terry Town RV.
Went to dealership as a potential buyer of a two year old never titled 5 th wheel. Felt like we were lied to on several occasions. We were told the unit we were interested in was sold last week buy buyer changed their mind. Unit was never washed and prepped. My guess is they wanted to buy another classic car with the profit from the sale. Can’t recommend this place. Sorry
After the day after we had brought my camper in to trade, I received a text message that they couldn't find my keys for it. Wednesday the day we were supposed to have the camper, and the day before we actually got it we found a listing of the exact same camper, same pictures from the website and everything, on Facebook Marketplace by a different sales representative for $1500 cheaper than what we were being quoted for. We felt very cheated that we weren't getting the fairest price. Made me think they were extremely un trusting... I called right away and said I wanted our camper for the cheaper rate, as anyone would do, since it was in writing. Thursday comes around the day we were supposed to already be up north and we go for our orientation. During the orientation, the step inside the camper broke off. Makes me think what else is going to break... and the microwave made an odd flashing light for a couple of seconds. The delivery driver that delivered my camper completely ruined my front yard. He got stuck and couldn't get out, made huge trenches. My boyfriend had to pull him out with his truck, which then made the other side of the yard also ruined. I had beautiful grass in my yard that I pay a lot of money to be kept up by a lawn service monthly. And now I have to have it all re done and seeded. Very frustrating because we had it delivered to make it convenient. Talk about inconvenient! Since the trailer had been stuck in the yard, it was then covered in mud and clay and we had to detail it and wash it AGAIN, which also put more stress on us and put us even more behind. Who wants a new camper that they have to wash and scrub?? The morning when we finally got ready to go, we folded the outdoor aluminum steps up into the trailer and they completely fell inside and the brackets that hold it in place fell off. When we arrived to our camping spot, the back splash tiles came un attached from the wall as well. This whole experience has been truly such a headache. If I were sending someone to buy a camper, I would tell them to go somewhere else that is more organized, trusting, professional, and really understanding of what your requests are.
I've been in camping/RVing since the 80's and except for a pop up camper I purchased from what is now Camping World, ALL my purchases have been at TerryTown RV. My last purchase was to support friend and co-worker Torey Whitten and his family during a difficult time as he battled cancer. My 2018 purchase of my 2018 Forest River Salem Travel Trailer was as Torey as my salesman. Well, it's time for my next purchase. I went from travel trailer to 5th wheel and then found myself back purchasing a travel trailer due to the high costs of 5th wheels. So my 2018 travel trailer was perfectly suited for my wife and I except that travel trailers were much more difficult to hook up and disconnect from my tow vehicle. As I get a little older, I find this issue to be growing and more important to adjust to my physical shortcomings so last week I found myself back at TerryTown RV in hopes of finding a 5th wheel in my price range. I wanted the auto leveling system that is coming more and more standard with 5th wheels and also the high ceilings and solar package that is starting to come with more and more of these 5th wheels. My salesperson, Christian McCulloch, was very personable and informative throughout the initial process and Christian and his team secured the necessary financing to put this into an "affordable" category for my wife and I. So, thanks to Christian and his dedicated team, I will be getting my new 5th wheel hitch installed next week and setting up a time to drop off my 2018 Forest River travel trailer and picking up my 2023 Keystone Cougar, with all climate package, solar package, automatic leveling system, the easy hook up and disconnect that 5th wheels are known for. I want to let everyone know that I do not hesitate to recommend Christian McCulloch at TerryTown RV for your RV purchase. If he doesn't know something he will tell you and find out. I had no pressure, just helpful assistance. When I was ready to proceed, I called him and told him to start moving forward. I did not get constant calls trying to push me forward into a sale. No pressure at all. Just friendly help. I will keep you all updated, but so far I give Christian an A+ in his handling of my 2023 Keystone Cougar purchase. Often a good salesman who is interested in YOUR needs is difficult to find. Go buys your new RV, travel trailer or 5th wheel and trust Christian with your purchase. Tell him Dave VanHouten sent you and I will look for you out there at a nearby campground! #terrytown
I was in the market for a camper and found the one that I thought was "the one" at Terrytown. I went through all the steps and put down a deposit to hold the camper. I had a 4PM appointment last Friday the 14th of July. Driving from the Detroit area, it took me longer than normal to get across the state. 5 hours due to traffic! I met with the Sales Manager, Rod Rumsey. He had to break the bad news to me and my family. We would not be getting my camper today. Due to it being so late. He was great to deal with. He offered a $200 refund of my nonrefundable deposit, to help pay for the gas. He also offered me a 1-year credit of the remaining $800 of the deposit. So that I have time to make it back out. It was a disappointing Friday night. But Rod made it right for me and my family. Jake from the Metro Detroit Area.
After visiting 2 other rv places we stopped in at Terry town. We were very impressed with the professional service and so many more options for a travel trailer then the previous places. Ryan was awesome to work with and got us all set up with our new travel trailer. Definitely a 5 star experience
I hate to leave bad reviews, our salesman Christian was great. But we purchased a brand new RV last week and on the drive home two warning lights came on. I have left two voice messages and have had no response at all. If this is how we are treated a week after a major purchase what’s the future service going to be?
