Texas A&M University-Commerce is known for our long tradition of excellence as well as our unique legacy of preparing generations of leaders. A&M-Commerce, founded in 1889, is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the State of Texas and enjoys the reputation of being a high quality Doctoral/Research Intensive University in the North Texas region. In 1996, we joined the Texas A&M University System, which is one of the largest and most prestigious university systems in the United States. As a result, the impact on educational and research endeavors for students as well as faculty members has been tremendous.
