Dr. Galindo is always so professional and courteous! I feel he really listens to my needs and provides great care. The nursing staff is always great as well. Very polite and communicative. All around a great place for family care.
This rating is NOT for the doctor, but for the overall experience, the lack of communication and discrimination felt through some interactions, and overall hassle. **BE AWARE** This office may NOT accept your insurance even after they confirm your insurance is in-network with them. I made an appointment about a year ago with Dr. Ko and when scheduling my appointment over the phone I asked if my insurance was in-network with them and was told it was. The next day I went to my appointment with my insurance card and asked them again to make sure my insurance was in-network and I waited more than 30 minutes in the waiting area so the staff could confirm the insurance was in-network which they reassured me it was. I went to the appointment had a regular check-up and diagnostics and months later I receive a bill saying my insurance did not cover the appointment nor the lab work. That is when I called Dr. Ko’s office and spoke to a staff member that told me they mistakenly thought my insurance was in-network and because of this problem, they would try to write-off the bill I spoke to at least 3 different people who told me the same thing. Meanwhile, the pandemic hits harder, my husband and I become both unemployed and full-time students. I continued to get bills, and every time I call the office and I am told to wait, and that I will receive a call back which never happened. More than 6 months later and this is still happening. I was also getting bills from the lab work I did even though I was assured they worked for several labs and would give my information to an in-network location. 9 months goes by, and I receive a letter via the patient portal saying my bill was delinquent and that I should know I needed to pay because I signed the “Financial Payment Guideline and Agreement.” In the email, they talked as if I purposefully went to the appointment knowing it was out of network, and now, I did not want to pay. I replied to that message which was not opened for weeks until after I escalated this issue. Bottom line, after almost 10 months of reaching out and not hearing back from anyone, finally someone calls and says all they can do is to decrease the bill by half, and that in no point in time this bill could get a write-off. During this encounter, I also had to listen from the manager supposed to be working with me talk of how “I have bills to pay too”, so should you. I am so over it, I asked for help to pay for a bill I wasn’t supposed to have in the first place had they done their job and now I have to listen and be lectured over the phone? This is unacceptable and unprofessional. I made the payment over the phone with the rude manager, and the patient portal system still showed as if I owed the other half. They told me the system would be updated. It took another 3-5 months for this saga to end. I had to call again because the patient portal system wouldn’t update, and the staff wouldn’t believe I had made the payment requested. I had to send proof of payment because they managed to misplace my payment receipt. A true nightmare… I hope to never need to use the services of Texas Health. This whole situation is humiliating and unacceptable. All this could have been avoided by day 1. Maybe this will not happen if you have a major insurance, but after this experience, I wouldn’t try. Here are a few of the names of people I spoke to both at Dr. Ko’s office and at the Texas Health Billing Department: Sandra, Leslie, Robbie, Donna, Nelson, Ashley, and Jessie. 5 stars for Dr. Ko – great experience with him! 1 stars for Dr. Ko’s male nurse – Maybe he was having a bad day, but this guy was plain rude. 2 stars for staff – They were always courteous and friendly. However, never called back and could not de-escalate a situation that was caused by their own. 0 stars for billing resolution Overall, even though Dr. Ko appears to be an amazing doctor, the hassle, humiliation, disdain, and total neglect of this situation was too draining and not worth the visit.
Easy to schedule, quick to respond, great pricing and accepted my insurance. Best part, the app on the phone! You fill out the info once and you never get hit with those stupid forms again, one click check in anywhere in the Texas Health network. Dr. David Ko was professional and helpful. I once wrote him on the app from the phone, and received a text reply with medical advice from him, free of charge and very timely. Highly recommend the whole Texas Health network and the Breeze urgent cares associates with them too.
This office is very nice and clean, because it is new. The receptionists, however, are unprofessional - making comments about needing to consume alcohol, making fun of an elderly patient with a walker by saying "spousal abuse," talking amongst themselves when people are trying to check in and pay out. The nurses seem nice, I haven't experienced an issue with them, wait time to be seen into a room isn't bad the times I have been. Trying to reach the office by phone is an issue, appointments and help all seem automated. I have tried for over a week to get refills for my prescriptions. I have left messages on the Texas Health App and I have called and left a voice mail, no one ever got back to me.
Came in today seeking some help with ongoing health issues. The front desk staff was lovely but once the nurse noticed I had a medical alert service dog I was told the doctor would not see me if I had my dog with me as she is afraid of dogs. I tried explaining ADA laws and how she is required to be with me for medical reasons, but after a bunch of back and fourth and waiting, I was ultimately denied service if I have my service dog with me which is highly against the law, as well as them asking me why I need her in the first place. This ended up putting me into a full PTSD episode outside that lasted for hours and I ended up going to a separate urgent care for the aftermath of this. If you are going to practice medicine you should be fully educated on the laws that protect disabled people. We will be filing formal complaints with the ADA and Texas Medical Board. Now I have to wait a whole other month to get seen by an actual doctor that understands and accepts my disabilities. Easily the worst experience ever.
We were refused medical service because the doctor Shimaila Zuberi is scared of our service animal. We were told that she is “terrified of dogs”. She refused to see us if our service dog was in the same room. They could not accommodate us with another doctor and their solution was for us to go in without our service dog or for US to try a different location.
Very sweet Nursing staff and Dr. Koo has been a good new Dr. For me.
I have been a patient of Dr. Vollenweider more than 25 years and prior to Texas Health taking over they were the best. I had the same doctor that I respected and trusted for all of those years, now he has left. I saw Dr. Tran and she changed my medication and said need to see you back in a month, now she has left also. They are now trying to push me to the third doctor in just a few months, might as well just go to prima care. Now i have problems with billing, never had a problem prior to Texas Health. I wish I could give less than 1 star.
My husband and I are new patients of Dr. Ko at Texas Health Family Care. We are so happy to have found him! He is a very thorough and personable doctor. I would recommend him to anyone. I also appreciated the sanitizing the office staff was doing during our visit. There was a woman stationed at the front door wiping things after each person and of course temps and fresh face masks at the door. 5 star service!
Dr shamila was great with me recently. I went for a well check and got everything completed that I needed to. It was quick and did not have to wait too long.
