Dr Patel seemed to be great in the beginning but once my mom went in the hospital and we started questioning things that didn’t add up then it became near impossible to get ahold of her and she would set up phone appointments but never call. Her staff was not the friendliest and our family doctor even had to get involved just to get a call back from them and when we got one it wasn’t even from a medical professional but instead an office staff.
Haven't been in yet since I was dropping info off, but FYI Google maps takes you to the ER entrance. This is in the medical Plaza 2. Big building just SE of the ER.
I have been denied my cancer treatment because the business office wants me to sign a treatment schedule and pay 8500 dollars up front, this amount is half of my treatment estimate.Dont think this is right to denigh treatment
Rude and biased. I was going to work for this place, but learning that the pay is horrible and the staff are biased white women I changed my mind. The 2 star rating makes sense now.
The doctors seem good. However the office staff and people that deal with prescriptions for medical supplies are horrible. My family had been working two weeks to have them send clinical notes so the medical supply company can deliver the medical bed the doctor already prescribed. The medical supply company attempted multiple times to obtain needed documentation for insurance from this place. I am now here in person to deal with this and they have no since of urgency. Update: I ended up leaving after almost 4 hours waiting on required documentation to get my wife’s hospital bed for when she comes home. After being lied to on a different matter it became clear this place had no intention to resolve this situation. All this trouble because they will not send the clinical notes. You will see a standard post from them below. I ensure you that they know how to contact me to resolve this matter. I will update this with any additional information if they try to contact me.
Sadly I had appointment to have iron infusion and after waiting an hour and a half I had to leave because I cannot sit in my wheelchair that long. No one should have to wait that long and it is not the first time this has happened. I truly like Dr Patel and her PA and wonder if they know this is happening
There are some very pleasant people who genuinely care about their patients and provide the most exceptional care for everyone they encounter. This includes front desk receptionists, treatment lab employees, and the nurses who receive blood samples. However, my wife was initially denied treatment if we did not pay $2,000 our co-insurance annual maximum to the facility. We were sent home and the billing specialist refused to schedule my wife's "life dependent" chemotherapy treatment. At the time, we had already reached our maximum co-insurance for the year. Our insurance company said the only amount we needed to pay was our copay of $40 for each treatment. I begged and pleaded with the specialist and she directed me to the finance manager in Sherman. After a few days of calling numerous times to get in touch, she finally confirms what my insurance company shared with me. We would not need to pay the $2,000 and we could start treatment. The billing department informed me that we might still have to pay after January 1st since insurance maximums reset at the new year. Luckily, we did not have to pay the $2,0000 after the new year. Every time we visit the Sherman location, they inform us we have a credit on our account. Our credit was over $300. If the Denison office was only taking what was required, we should not have a credit. I learned we have been overcharged every time we walked through the doors. After viewing our Explanation of Benefits from our insurance company, we are not responsible for paying a $40 copay if we do not see the doctor. Lab work including chemo does not require the copay. Our portion of the $21,489 chemotherapy bill is a grand total of... $18.53!!! The Denison office refuses to use our credit on file and still makes us pay $40 for something that only costs $18.53. I'm sharing this so others can have this information and fight for your rights to not get screwed. Dr. Patel at times seems disconnected. We felt like cattle being herded when it came to pushing chemotherapy on us. There were other issues that could've been related to the cancer that was never investigated. It felt like a timeshare presentation when she recommend chemo. She brought in another doctor to have him "close the sale", followed by the billing department asking for their money. Chemo may have been the right choice, just be vigilant about your own health, finances, and overall understanding of all the process. Although this is a 2 star review, we are thankful for everyone in the clinic. We just want to bring awareness to everyone and understand what you're getting into.
Please for your sake get a second opinion great nurses and employees but doctors t salesman based on insurance
