TGI Fridays

Description

In Manhattan in 1965, there was no place where people could go out to meet friends and make new ones in an environment that was at once both relaxed and yet exciting. Then, Alan Stillman opened Fridays as a way, he said, “to meet Pan Am stewardesses.” Suddenly, there was a place with great food, new and exciting drinks and an electric energy. A place where bartenders mixed the environment just as well as they mixed drinks. In short, a place like nowhere else. Today, Fridays in Rockville Centre, NY is still America’s most iconic bar and grill. We embrace and celebrate our heritage as a bar. One that just happens to serve killer food in an environment where it’s always Friday.

I had a good time having a cold beer, Cajun and pasta which was delicious and some fries. The service was great, music was good, place was clean, not much delay in taking my order, so I’d definitely recommend this place for dessert dining in. Good job!Food: 5/5
Disappointed I believe that the restaurant service and food can do better. I ordered a 6oz sirloin with a loaded mashed potato and a side salad. Presentation was horrible. The food arrived on a half inch black coloured slab of wood. The sirloin was hidden under the salad bowl and the loaded mashed potato. I had to separate the plates so that you can see the beef see photo. The beef was barely warm. In fact, the mashed potatoes were so hot that I couldn’t eat it right away. I had to wait until the end of the course before it cooled off enough for me to eat it. The lady who took my order was nice. She had a heavy accent but I understood her. I thought that she was the one waiting me for the evening. Unfortunately that was not the case. It was 3 different people. I waited for someone to pass by so that I can comment on the food but no one came for a long while. I was so hungry and tired from my trip that I just ate the cold meat with the salad and then the mashed potatoes. I finally flagged a lady who was in a hurry. She listen to my complaint but nothing came of it. I was ready to leave. It took a while for me to get the bill. Again, the same reasons mentioned above. The restaurant was not at full capacity. I would estimate at 30% capacity. I don’t know what was happening why the service was slow and the food mediocre. Beef should never be served on cold wood or even a cold plate. I wouldn’t go back this TGI Fridays.
Order to go it takes forever, asked for forks and spoons also take forever ends up they didn’t have any. Lucky we have our own forks to use. So I regret to tip them $2.Food: 3/5
This place used to be better. Looked like they were short staff. The waitstaff service took very long to take our order and to bring out appetizers. We ordered Margaritas and they forgot to bring them out before our appetizers. The place was not busy and main course was cold. The appetizers and drinks were great outstanding! Also I had to get up and get napkins and small plates for our appetizers because we could not find our waitress. So I recommend to put your full order in asap or just get drinks and appetizers.
My partner and I intended to dine in. Unfortunately, we waited for over 15 minutes with no server on site. The hostess ignored our gestures for assistance. The hostess was on his phone the entire time. He sat us in an area where there were no other guests. We ordered our food to go because we were just frustrated with the lack of service. The server did apologize for the delay. I gave her a generous tip despite how unsatisfied we were from the start. She did give us our food pretty quickly, and we appreciated that.
The food at Fridays is not as good as I remember it to be. Wasn’t excited about it, ordered the fish and chips. The fish was alright, tasted like the fish had been microwaved before it was deep fried. The salad that came with it was super soggy, cucumbers and tomatoes that had been sitting in a vinegar based dressing for a few days. Our server was amazing! So sweet. She helped us join the rewards program. I have a lot of children with me and she was super patient.
The experience was second to none and our waiter Felix was the best. He made sure everything was on point. Service was great and food was delicious. It made me forget they didn't have candles for my son's Tsunami birthday cake. Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
TGIF in Rockville Centre, NY is a highly unpleasant destination for a visit. I recommend opting for Applebee's instead due to their superior service. During my family's visit to this establishment, my wife and two children endured a frustrating 20-minute wait with no sign of a hostess attending to us. Frustrated, we approached the bartender, who responded with a dismissive attitude and informed us that the waiter was acting as the hostess. We were informed that we would have to wait an additional 30 minutes to be seated, even though the establishment had plenty of available tables. This location is far from satisfactory. We just walked out.
Love it! Spent many hours here while waiting to check into our hotel. It's clear that most people here are coming because of the bartender Allison. Everyone seems to know her and is excited to see her working. She created many drinks for us that she wasn't familiar with. We appreciated it immensely because they were all drinks we used to order in college. Loved spending time with her and hope to come back in the future.
The only reason it'd getting a 1 is because there isn't a 0. We got there, no one other diners to be seen. The hostess had to be called over and wouldn't even look at me and spoke directly to, and only to my daughter in law. She begrudgingly brought a high chair and then we sat.... no water, no crayons for the kids, nothing. We left.
