19 is a place where younger, local LGBTQ members gather to socialize, play pool, darts and find a sense of community. Everyone is accepted. The bartenders are friendly and fast. The bar offers small frozen pizzas and chips to go with your drinks. There is a smoking area in the back of the bar but most people stay inside. It's not fancy, but it is a place where a marginalized group can congregate safely. There are really nice young people there who just want to go out and decompress.
The best queer space in MPLS that is welcoming to all queers not just gay cis men. Would be great to have the restrooms not gendered seeing as they bring in a lot of NB and trans customers.
The carpet smells like they have never cleaned it. Bartenders are so unpolite and they will look for any way to make you feel uncomfortable. There are better places in the city for sure Dietary restrictions: They don't have any non alcoholic drinks
Very racist toward minorites. I seen a white guy have a WHOLE FIST FIGHT keep in mind this was IN the bar. White Guy is back within a WEEK! I got in some trouble OUTSIDE OF THE BAR and banned for life. Keep in mind my trouble OUTSIDE of the bar was from LAST YEAR! The only thing that matters to them when it comes to minorities is their MONEY. It's a low-key "whites ONLY" place they just can't be honest about it.
In my opinion, the safest and most truly queer space in the Twin Cities! Wonderful staff, judgement free space, and great spot to play darts/pool. Bonus points: I’ve never seen a bachelorette party in here like at every other gay bar
Great place for a drink.., The drinks are great with price's for everyone's pocket... A game of pool,,,, a game of dart's... . with a back patio to sit and have a beer or relax.... My girlfriend and I enjoy the 19.... Patrons and staff are great, easy going in all aspects.. . . Thanks 19
Casual dimly lit bar. This is a gay bar where you can talk to someone without yelling. And actually chat with people who are open to new faces. Friendly atmosphere!
Great bar! My only recommendation is to add a digital jukebox TouchTunes or AMI. The vintage one that is there is great because it’s nostalgic, but not practical. It only takes cash/coins, plus almost all of the music is outdated. TouchTunes or AMI would be great to have before Pride arrives, plus you can play songs from your phone.
Horrible place, staff is rude and unhelpful. Place is a breading ground for bacteria, not sure the last time they cleaned it. They keeps the lights dim so you dont notice. Bathroom was unusable would not recommend going here.
Not a safe bar for Black people. They don’t card white people very often, but very frequently card Black people. When I spoke to them about this very calmly and respectfully they responded with anti-Black sentiments. The music is wack and they are racist. Save yourself the trip.
