The Active Life AC is owned and operated by strength and conditioning coach Joe Passalaqua. Joe has extensive experience, knowledge and qualifications in the fitness industry. As a former CAA decathlete for the University of Delaware and top 100 competitor in CrossFit regional competition(s), Joe has competed at some of the highest levels of sport. It is this focus and dedication that drives him to help others with their success.
The Active Life AC is more than a gym, it's a community of people who are like minded, physically fit and genuinely interested in improving themselves on a daily basis. The support, education and encouragement to achieve your fitness goals at The Active Life AC is second to none.
Based on the experience levels of our coaches, we cut away all the excess confusion that surrounds the fitness industry today. Our goal is to make fitness and nutrition simple, sustainable and most of all fun.
We follow the CrossFit mentality of constantly varied functional movements carried out at high intensity.
What does that mean?
Constantly varied – our programming is written with consistently improving your maximum capacity in mind however it keeps you and your body guessing what’s next in preparation for the unknown that is life.
Functional movement – you complete exercises that will carry over and benefit you in everyday life and get you moving the way your body is designed.
High Intensity - workouts are short in duration as the expectation is to complete them using maximum effort. The goal is to keep you in a high metabolic pathway. However, we at The Active Life AC will not substitute from and technique for intensity. Having the proper form and appropriate technique will always take precedence over achieving a new Personal Record (PR).
All our workouts are done in a group environment were anyone of all fitness levels can participate together. Our coaches will scale and modify all workouts based on an individual’s fitness level so that everyone is working towards their own maximum capacity.
The Active Life AC is for everyone. However if you are looking for a quick fix or a new fad this type of exercise may not be right for you.
