The communication the place had with customers is lacking at best. The hours that front desk are open are terrible, and this feeds into the lack of communication with customers. The room itself was clean, the bed was the squeakiest bed I have ever slept on. Was it worth the price? No. But at the end of the day if you just need a place to sleep and care to deal with them never responding to your questions or have the ability to call them before 2 when the desk closes then this place is a fine option for you.
Location was beautiful, but service was seriously lacking. Rooms were fine. Check-in took a while because no one was at the reception desk. Dining was pretty horrible. Granted a snow storm didn't help, but it's what you do. You are in a location that snows. Felt the location could have taken advantage of so many opportunities to grow and attract new customers and provide the ones you do get a good experience so they come back. Which won't happen with me.
If you enjoy staying in a hotel with zero customer service, then this is the perfect place for you. Upon arriving, the front door was locked even though it was 2pm. We walked around the hotel to find a door that was unlocked, which was uncomfortable to do. There was no one at the front desk to help us check in. We finally found our room, and it was nicely furnished and clean. There was one person in the restaurant in the morning, and apparently she was the only one working the restaurant and the front desk. She was not very nice or helpful. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and will not be back.
It was pretty clean but there was no one to greet us at 4 PM, just a series of envelopes with names of guests and keys inside. There was a laminated paper in the room telling us that the restaurant is closed but there was no prior communication about that. After driving all day, we didn't want to get back in the car to find a restaurant. Also, the parking lot has no lighting. We will not be back.
Loved this place! Came for dinner and let incredibly impressed. We are unaware that a festival was in town and we're shocked to find every hotel in practically SW Colorado booked. The host was incredibly friendly and more than happy to help us find another place by pointing out hotels in the nearby towns. We stayed for dinner and very glad we did! The Hawaiian pulled pork was out of this world delicious! Prices are also reasonable and the portions are a good size.
BEWARE! Bait and Switch Scam! We just stayed here for our anniversary. We were so excited to be in a remote area with the beautiful photos and restaurant. Our Priceline reservation assured us free continental breakfast and a beautiful outdoor setting. The restaurant is closed! They don't even have snacks! We had to drive 30 minutes in either direction just to find food! This hotel is for sale and is obviously run down and under horrible management. The lady at check in was extremely rude. Good thing we arrived before the front desk closed at 2PM!! Our room did not even have enough toilet paper! The bathrooms and ice machine are out of order. The entire outdoor property is covered in weeds. Very sad, as the property has great charm and could be spectacular.
This place looks NOTHING like the photos. It is rundown with absolutely NO amenities. WiFi doesn’t work, no breakfast, restaurant is closed, ice machine broken, and they don’t even use fitted sheets for the bed. There were NO employees on the grounds when we checked in as they only work from 9-2. They are charging WAY TOO MUCH for how little you get. You are literally only paying to have a bed and bathroom. Something needs to be done about the social media for this hotel because it is 100% misleading and is a complete scam!
This place has SO much potential. Rooms were comfortable and the staff were very accommodating. The restaurant has a good selection of beers on tap and other wines and spirits. I would perhaps suggest that management offer a shuttle to and from Telluride. Charge a fee, people would pay it. Outside of that, a place I'd definently stay again.
The Angler Inn is a great place to stay. I stayed for one night. The room was nice. The bathroom was recently remodeled and looked great. Everything felt clean and nice. There was a T.V., microwave, and mini fridge in our room. There is a restaurant in the Inn, so you can eat dinner there. It's a simple menu, but good choices. The breakfast in the morning was great and had a variety of choices. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at Angler Inn and would definitely stay here again!
I'd like to give this place a higher rating, but getting into a room after paying almost $250 was a less than ideal experience to say the least. Management had gone home for the day and while that would normally be fine, the room she gave us has a lockbox that we found out later was a different combo than what she thought. Having an 18 month old at 845 pm, who was teetering on heavily cranky, didn't seem to matter because although she had other rooms open, wouldn't check us into a different one. The Inn wasn't busy. There were three other cars in the parking lot besides us on a Sunday night. Instead, said she needed to make the 30 minute drive in order to get us into the room. So, we waited street a long day of driving with an 18 month old and I'm pregnant. The room was nice, but she just seemed annoyed that she even had to work with us and come. We had even video called with her so that she could see the lockbox wouldn't open. Overall, the customer service wasn't good. The inn itself is beautiful, but the experience was tainted by having it be so difficult. I wouldn't stay here again.
