This hotel was suggested so we went based on that and the intriguing history. Ken at the front desk was entertaining and nice. Walked into the room and found 1 stained carpet big black spots, 2 K-cup on the floor, 3 several short, dark hairs in the sink, 4 an orange pill on bathroom floor, 5 back of a lapel pin on closet floor and 6 blowdryer did not work. We were placed in rooms away from the front of the hotel due to construction, which I appreciated but on day 2 we were awakened by hammers and saws. I opened the curtain and there were feet outside the window. They also charged for breakfast which was to be part of the package. Thankfully that got credited back. The area is fantastic and the history is fun to hear but I suggest staying somewhere else and just visiting the hotel.
Still fighting extra charges made by hotel. Be careful booking thru a third party. Other than that rooms were clean. Capone suite was amazing and the bar was hopping til 1030 with live music and A+ bartenders. Hats off to Chance, one of the best and quickest bartenders I’ve ever met.Rooms: 5/5
Valet: We entered the parking garage, saw a sign saying "VALET FULL" in capital letters, so we left to find parking elsewhere. But as we were leaving the building, valet stopped us and asked if we wanted our car. We said no, we thought the valet was full. The worker told us they just always keep that sign up, and looked at us like we were idiots. Then he said he'd seen us speeding through the garage and told us to slow down. We said we hadn't even parked in the garage, and he rudely repeated, "Just slow down next time!" It was a bizarre and very unprofessional interaction. Spa: We came to this hotel for spa appointments we did not stay as guests in the hotel. The spa was not relaxing at all -- it's clearly original to the building, but this means it was very old, hot, muggy, and unclean. It felt like a creepy hospital. They give you a thin sheet to wrap around your body, and then you have to walk through the lobby with this loose-fitting sheet, trying to cover yourself up. Once we got to the massage area, they gave us robes -- why not do that from the beginning?! We then went into these little cubicles that were only separated from the rest of the room by thin curtains. There aren't individual massage rooms, so no privacy at all. The spa itself is very warm and doesn't appear to have air conditioning. It was certainly not worth $60 for 30 minutes, though the massage itself was good I had Bob.
The Arlington is an absolutely beautiful place, you can feel the history as you walk through the halls. This building is 100 years old, it of course is going to have it's problems and considering it wasn't thrown up in a week like a Holiday Inn this place is I'm sure expensive to maintain, so give it some grace. Yes it is old, yes it smells musty because of the age but, if you appreciate history and can see the charm in it you'll love it here. It's not a Hilton, it's not a Holiday Inn, it's a historic building and if you're looking for the best there is to offer and state of the art amenities, then go elsewhere. Again, if you love history and old charm then this will be the place for you. I love the old school doors, the fact that you still open it with a key, how deep the bathtubs are because they're not made of cheap plastic like they are now, the molding on the walls and the black and white penny tile on the floors. If you take all of that out because it's "old" then you no longer have The Arlington you have the same cookie cutter hotel you can find on every corner.
They are currently updating this 100 yr old building. And it looks every bit its age. Our room had the carpet buckling, the walls are very thin and you can hear the band from the lobby all the way to the 5th floor. The location is great for walking bathhouse row and visiting the park. I can recommend the spa but not the salon. I can still feel my 30 min trouble spot massage 2 days later. The salon is run on a skeleton crew, and they had 1 person doing the pedicures. My local does a better job for a comparable price. They charge your card ahead of time for "incidentals" which is a deposit and then charged me again once we used the spa & salon services. We still have 1 more day on our reservation. Hopefully, they issue the incidenal charge refund as fast as they take it. Nearby activities: Hot Springs National Park Walkability: Bathhouse row is across the street
Great Location. Truly, the hotel needs to be shut down, updated, and reopened. Heavily perfumed hallways still couldn't mask the smell of urine. Peeling Paint. Carpet in room beaten down and dirty. Bathroom had no flat surface to put anything on. Found ample street parking, so didn't have to pay for parking. Maybe I was just in a bad section. The lobby was impressive. The potential is there, but the hotel needs help. There was a lot of construction during our visit, so I'm hopeful updates will be completed soon. I would love to come back in a few years and be pleasantly surprised.
This place is horrible. I am pregnant and wanted my family to have a little get away before the new arrival. The smell was horrible, our room was absolutely disgusting looks like nobody been there in years and no moment like they stuck us away from everybody. I already received bad energy when I first walked in. Nobody greeted us and everybody looked at us funny. I lost almost $300 because I simply could not stay in it. You would do better off going to red roof. The vents were dirty and the bed had a spider in it. Not to mention my view outside was dirty building. Then when I went to leave they tried to offer me a better room like if you knew the 6 floor was disgusting then why would you give it to anyone. Honestly I felt like my skin color played a big part in my experience due to all the looks and uncomfortable stares but it cannot be proven so we going to just leave that part alone. Really wish I could get my money back because we are getting a new addition to the family but I couldn’t risk our health. Not only am I pregnant I also have a toddler and she was itching when we left. Please check the room before paying or just don’t go.
4 of us sorely needed a time away of peace and fun. 2 double rooms were booked @ $145 per night plus tax and fees so $182 each for 2 nights. Parking was extra too so we walked to the free parking deck. Rooms not very clean. Gross stuff in tub. Carpet thin and dirty. Behind beds just awful. Leaking faucet no one would look at or fix. Key was a struggle to even enter one room and only one key and no resolution. Under renovation and loud noises just outside window. Pool was nice and bar area nice. Location perfect to walk and explore. Just disappointed. Understand it’s age but lacks cleanliness and basic service/maintenance is disappointing. Thrilled for the future renovation. Walkability: Perfect
The Arlington is a beautiful place, full of history and splendor. We stopped in to walk around and were pleasantly greeted by the lady at the counter, who told us it was okay to look around. We met Alice in the dining room and she gave us an amazing tour and told us about the history of the Arlington. What a beautiful thing to do and she was and so full information about the history of the Arlington, and whole town. Thank you Alice for making our visit so memorable. We hope to see you next year
Stained and soiled carpet very very thin walls, very little privacy, way to noisy. Always stayed here when we visited Hot Springs but this time was very disappointing. Valet parking was full we were giving free parking in their overflow lot down the street by Fat Jack's. Went to check on our car the next morning after breakfast and it had been hit pretty hard, we hope to drive it home safely. Hope it's better next time we visit Rooms: Small bad carpet stained and soiled Nearby activities: Plenty of things to choose from lots of restaurants and stores Safety: Very very safe Walkability: Right on the main drag where all the action is located
