The Art Guild at Fairfield Glade is a non-profit art organization whose mission is to “Teach, Learn, and Inspire” through classes, workshops, art exhibits and shows, gallery trips, and community outreach. The Guild’s Plateau Creative Arts Center includes a state-of-the-art studio and an art gallery with monthly display changes featuring original art by local area artists.
In addition to the gallery’s display and sale of paintings, jewelry, pottery, cards and more, in the studio we offer many types of classes to members and guests. Some of the classes offered include drawing in charcoal/graphite and colored pencil, and painting in acrylics, alcohol ink, colored pencil, oil, pastels and watercolor. We also offer a Smorgasbord of Art series of classes in floral design, jewelry, photography, pine needles, polymer clay, and stained glass. We encourage new types of art and artists to share their skills and techniques by instructing others.
Our Outreach for children in Cumberland County includes classes given in our gallery during the summer, at no cost to the children attending. We also teach a series of classes for home-schooled children. Our funding for the children’s programs is mainly funded by our Annual Golf Fundraiser which will be held on July 21st in 2017. In addition to donating art supplies to our schools, and for the in-house instruction, we donate $1000 to a deserving high school senior who will continue studies in art. We are a proud participant in the new STARTS program in Crossville. STARTS stands for Support the ARTS and will be a program based in the schools for Music and Visual Arts.
Our Outreach activities for adults are very well-attended both at Fair Park Senior Center in Crossville and Good Samaritans Campus in Fairfield Glade.
On June 10th and 11th, 2017 we will have our annual “Art in the Park” outdoor event that will include local art vendors, music, concessions, and children’s activities.
Our “Fun and Wine Friday” events, scheduled on the first Friday of each month, are wonderful opportunities for people to enjoy the gallery and fellowship with members and guests. This event is open to the public at no cost.
We have a beautiful Sculpture Trail around our building. Everyone is invited to stroll the trail and enjoy large-format sculptures that were created by some very talented artists.
