Great inventory!! Something for ANY sports collector. Everything well displayed and organized. Friendly owner. Helped me complete my 1968 baseball card set. Also bought baseball cards for 1967 set a 1966 set 1965 cards
I've been in twice. The first time I walked in, the owner let me walk and browse a condensed shop. When I say condensed, I mean small facility but incredible cards/memorabilia any way you turn. Throughout that trip I got to know Cal- the owner. I mentioned my dad's favorite player- and Cal agreed that it was his also. Then Cal dropped a few minutes of the most entertaining education of Cesar Tovar. I bought a box of cards and then Cal decided to go into his personal collection and grab a near mint card of Cesar Tovar- my dad's favorite Twin. I want in again today with the same non-pressure situation. In fact, I went there today because I admire and appreciate Cal so much- and I live 1.5 hours away although I work in the area The pricing could be 20% cheaper elsewhere, but I will forever support Cal and his business. The premium is worth it, and he seems to have a chocolate bar for any purchase. This is THE place to learn, chat and/or grow your hobby.
My son and I stopped at this shop today. Absolutely wonderful experience. Owner is an awesome person with tons of great sports memorabilia in the shop. We will be back.
I come here with my grandson and always leave very pleased with what we find! The owner is so friendly and always takes extra time to help us find what we are looking for!
The shop has a ton of cool stuff in it. They have a '52 Mantle asking with some other great vintage stuff. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The shop was a bit cluttered, but that's to be expected with all the stuff and a smaller space. I felt the prices were a bit high for the new stuff, but I was happy supporting a local business and I think the guy working was happy that I was buying. They didn't carry hobby boxes, which I thought was odd. I asked why and he said they wouldn't give him any. I didn't ask further as I got the feeling there's a story there and not a happy one. I forgot to ask about card grading, so I don't know their prices/times for those. I think one thing they could do is sell box breaks like a lot of card shops do and a good money maker. Overall a good shop and I would go again, but they could do a few things more. Granted, I was in the store only a short time, so I don't know their business as a whole.
AWESOME shop! its a vintage collectors dream! Was in the area after taking my daughter to the zoo and google searched card shops in the area. Had never heard of "The Ballpark." The owner, Calvin, was great. Extremely knowledgeable and courteous. Will be a repeat customer whenever i am in the area.
Friendly, informative owner with a great selection of cards from every sport
Walking into this store immediately brings back fond memories of youth for people of all ages. It is also a place to explore and learn new things about sports collectibles and life. I have known Cal the owner for over 30 years. He is one of the most honest, knowledgeable and sincere business operators you will ever meet. Whether you're looking for cards, memorabilia, autographs or collecting supplies, The Ballpark will either have it or Cal will help you find it. You can even go there to visit or just soak in the atmosphere! I'm sure you'll find something you like
I visited because I was in the area for work, and to get my nephew some basketball cards. I was so impressed with the owners ability to engage and remember my name, as I hung out in the store browsing for 15-20 minutes. He seemed extremely knowledgeable and very fair. I will will visit soon again.
Great selection of vintage cards and cal the owner is a very knowledgeable kind happy man that seems to actually enjoy his job and customers.
