The Baltimore Free School maintains a classroom space inside the new Red Emma's Bookstore Coffeehouse location at 30 W. North ave, where anyone can hold a public class, reading group, lecture, workshop, or learning circle - anything with an educational focus - for free.
To reserve the Franklin classroom for a course, submit a course proposal to [email protected]. You'll hear back from us within a few days regarding scheduling.
You can also reserve the space for a private meeting for $30/ hour. Email [email protected] with the details and suggested dates and times, and we will get back to you within a few days regarding scheduling.
Catering from Red Emma's is available for both classes and meetings for an additional fee.
The Baltimore Free School is a grassroots, volunteer-run and community-funded project based upon a long tradition of horizontal organizing, collaborative learning and participatory education, we believe that the empowerment of people of all ages and backgrounds to share and learn is vital to the health of any community. To that end, we work toward creating a space where the exchange of ideas can occur without the exchange of money; a space where we can learn to relate to each other in new and meaningful ways. By building this infrastructure, we hope to form a microcosm of the world in which we want to live.
