My wife and I chose to get married here back in 2016 - To this day our friends and family still talk about how much fun the wedding was. We did the food tasting with them. We did request a couple of minor changes to the food and they were very easy to work with. The day of the wedding the food was great! My wife and I were the host's at a barn wedding this past weekend and I can't tell you how helpful the wedding planner at this venue was. I don't think we realized it until this past weekend. Marlette and the entire staff were awesome. They definitely know how to keep things flowing from one thing to the next. If there was any issues, they sure did a good job to not let my wife or I know about it. The day was super smooth! The bathroom trailer's were nice for our guests. We also rented most of the cabins that weekend, so we used the main one right across from the barn as our space to stay and get ready. Thinking back, when we met with the planner I had told her how our guests like to enjoy beer/alcohol at weddings. My mom who purchased the kegs later told me that she was told she could only purchase two kegs for the wedding. We ran out of keg beer before dinner. Our experience overall was a very good one. It was a wonderful place to get married.
The barn overall was beautiful as well as the ground surround it. The coordinator was very helpful through the planning and wedding day! She gave lots of ideas and her opinion was very much appreciated. We did a tasting to narrow down what we wanted our meals to be for the day and when we tasted the food it was phenomenal. But unfortunately, when the actually wedding day came my chicken lacked sauce/dry and heard from several guest and groom that the walleye was flavorless. Also heard second hand that one of the staff was rude to my guest and to one of my venders. Also, I understand that the point of a wedding venue is ultimately to make money, but a lot of my family was upset that we weren't able to do any decorating until the day of the wedding which is definitely stressful if you don't have the money to hire a decorator. No events day before. If we wanted to decorate the day before it was an extra $500 or some. The side dishes and salad were great. Most of the staff was kind to me and most of my guest. I will say the lengths they went to make sure the groom and I got mac n cheese and to make sure my cake stayed safe was much appreciated. They were also very considerate along the whole process and day. I will also add that it was very nice that we were able to come back the following day and clean up only the stuff we brought, very nice that we didn't have to clean the entire barn, I have heard some places make people clean up tables, sweep, and more. Overall, I loved the venue, and it will be a day I will never forget but also a few things make me upset and sad to look back and remember.
We celebrated our rehearsal dinner here and had the most fantastic time! Everything was absolutely wonderful, from the food and beverages to the gorgeous grounds. If you are looking for a unique, rustic but very elegant setting for your special event The Barn at Five Lakes will be perfect for you!!
Our daughter's wedding there was perfect. Several families connected to the wedding reserved cabins for the weekend, and it was like we had a state park to ourselves. The grounds are beautiful. The groom's dinner, reheasal, wedding and dance all happened without anyone needing a car. And the dance is a barn dance. Marlette has the experience to help with suggestions, and the entire staff is friendly and effiecient. Zero regrets.
We have hosted a few of our childrens' rehearsal dinners at the Barn at Five Lakes near Vergas MN, and are always so confident in the exceptional food, beverages and service. We also love that there are cabins right on site for family and friends to stay and celebrate. Five Lakes Resort is located on a private lake and our guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay at their cabins almost as much as the big event in the Barn.
So pretty... The loft of the barn is a great place to hold an event. The scenery is gorgeous!
