Went here on a lark when we had a girl's reunion trip and rented a house nearby. One of the girls saw this in the strip mall and I had a lot of attitude about it before we took our first class because of the location. I was WAY wrong. It was awesome. We did a group kick boxing class and our instructor was lovely I forget her name, sadly and we had a really fun time. The music was great and Jim owner helped us wrap our wrists. I came back the next day and asked if I could do the 7 day pass, retroactively. He said, "absolutely" and made that happen for me. I was really floored at his generosity and awareness. He's a small business owner and could have been strict about that, but was kind, instead knowing we didn't live in the area. Also, he didn't ask me to write this review, I asked on my last day if Google reviews help him and he said, "Yes, they help a lot. Thank you." The facilities are stacked with what you need and the instructors I took from 3 different ones were all knowledgable and cared about form/fitness. It was a pleasure. Also, the owner has 2 boxer dogs that are ADORABLE and give you kisses when you're sweating. So, if you don't like kisses and cuddles from fur babies - you are not a well person and this isn't the gym for you! Whenever I come back to STL, I'll for sure stop in for a class. Support local businesses!
Been a member for a year now and honestly best health I have ever been in, I give credit to the boxing gym. I went to one class because I heard about kickboxing before, and I am so glad this was the gym I walked in to. Every trainer I work with obviously loves working there, and every member loves being a part of it. They meet you where you're at; you can go as hard as you want during class & learn technique, or just use it as a cardio session. At the end of class, I usually can't wait for my next one. I highly recommend Nicki, Jim & Trent, but honestly have loved classes with everyone.
I’ve been a loyal member since moving to the STL area about four years ago and I refuse to find a different gym. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient. Every class is challenging and fun. They are always willing to answer any fitness question and assist you with your health journey, if needed. There are a variety of classes from basic to intermediate/advanced boxing, and strength training. All fitness levels are welcome.
Your website is messed up the part to contact you all continues to give an error when trying to “valid the code” provided that we have to type in, in order to send a message to you guys. Really inconvenient as email or text is more convenient than trying to call. Please fix.
Couldn’t ask for a better gym experience. The workouts are fun and challenging with lots of variety in the class offerings. The trainers are encouraging, motivating, and safety-conscious super important, especially when it comes to weightlifting. As an added bonus, there are two adorable and friendly dogs always looking for pets after class is over. Coming to this gym has been extremely important for my mental and physical health for several years now, and I can’t recommend this place enough.
Whoever BOI is a Asian man is extremely rude ! I walked in to sign up for a few classes and the owners dog charged at me while growling and barking. Boi told me if I don’t like dogs I shouldn’t come there & he had a snappy attitude like this isn’t a place is business and I’m sure it’s not professional to have dogs in a business no matter who’s dogs they are. So if you don’t wanna get bite or attacked find another gym.
I did the 7 day pass and loved it! Now I have a membership for 10 sessions a month. Very friendly staff and great workout! Great location right around the corner from my job. I even go on my lunch break for a quick workout!
Editing to say that I LOVE the Boxing Gym. I've been going to The Boxing Gym since 2017. The variety of classes and instructors, at different times of day, means I can get the workout I need even when I have a busy schedule. Each instructor has different music and a different style so I can change it up anytime! The bootcamps are especially challenging, and I love that I can modify them however I need if my knees are sore that day. They’ve added a lot of weightlifting and cardio classes without boxing, including on Sundays. The instructors have all been around for YEARS so it feels like a family welcoming me whenever I go. I switch around between classes with Stephanie, Jim, or Trent, and I recently went to a class with Karen and had a great workout! The owner Jim has two adorable dogs who hang out all the time, and they love getting pet. They’re literally the sweetest most gentle pups, so it’s so relaxing to visit the gym. It's conveniently located next to Schnucks so I often go to the store afterward. I LOVE this gym and the instructors, and they keep people coming back for years!
The best gym! When they say boxing is for everyone they mean it. As a wheelchair user, everyone has been helpful and friendly. I have been a member for 2 years. The classes are challenging and fun. The instructors are helpful and knowledgeable!
Trained here for a few months during an internship in the city a couple years back. Amazing experience, phenomenal Muay Thai coaching, and a terrific workout. I wasn’t personally seeking to compete, but they trained me with the seriousness and discipline as if I were. The owner is also fantastic. Wish I could have stayed longer. Highly recommend.
