I came in at the very last minute today in hopes of reserving a private study room for a virtual video interview for a position I am applying for. The front desk personnel was very helpful and prompt in assisting me. They were able to squeeze me in even with no advance notice. The room is set up above the rest of the library and is very well lit with extremely big windows , a nice conference size table with 6 chairs , a trash can receptacle , air conditioning as well as outlets and a white board with pens and an eraser for presentations if needed. It was pretty wound proof and I didn’t hear any of the outside noise or conversations taking place around me. I used to go to this library when it was located across the street but that was nearly 20 years ago if not more ! My brother lives just down the street here now with his four young children and his wife. My mother who is retired brings them here often and she says she loves the children’s area as it has a very vast array of age appropriate reading material as well as clean facilities and access to a food court right next door. It’s also located adjacent to the Brentwood historic downtown and the city park. I would definitely come back here for any of my needs regarding a safe and secure environment for anything career oriented or even just for a good break from the contra costa county heat .
The library in general is nice. It is cute and fun. The selection of books are nice, but sometimes the staff is mean. BUT. IM giving it a one because of one thing. I came here to look for the best children book on the planet that was ever created. Which is Rumble Buttercup, author Matthew Gray Gubler AND IT WASNT HERE. ITS THE BEST BOOK EVER AND ITS NOT HERE. Automatically A ONE.
Great new library, in the heart of downtown Brentwood. I say new because it is in pristine condition, but truthfully, it's been open for a couple years now. As a branch of CCC libraries, it's stock is modest, but special orders from other libraries are usually less than a week, if it's in stock. Kind and helpful staff will ensure you find what you need here.
I love the new public library! They have a huge kids babies, toddlers, little kids area for reading, “playing”, and storytelling time. Great selection of books too! Free for contra costa residents and access to tons of resources. Modern aesthetics helps a lot!
Love this library, super clean and everything is new. Just don't understand why everyone that works here is so rude and aggressive when they speak to you. Please be a little nicer to your community members.
Too much noise from adults and kids. Staff do not seem to care. I do not like the waffle place right there either. A quiet setting with trees would be more suited.
The library is great but when I went there with my mom there was a boy that was running around the library being really naughty. As my little sisters, my mom, and I all sat down the little boy then ran up to a small bucket in front of where we sat. And the kid let loose a waterfall right into the bucket, my sisters now traumatized. One things for sure, I did not expect for my sister's to be taught a free anatomy lesson that day. Hopefully they've forgotten by now. The library is beautiful but if you see an asian mom chasing a round her son beware of unexpected surprises. I really hope the staff actually cleaned out the bucket when my mom asked because If not that would be disgusting
Wonderful cool library. Really good customer service. Their shelves look well stocked. I got to use the computer as a guest. No bother. And the upstairs area for periodical readers is magnificent. A little hyperbole there but very nice!
The staff hear aren’ t that friendly. I would say this place is one of the beautiful updated libraries I have been too. Everything from furniture to books are very well kept and clean. Also there is a book sale on the second floor. They even have private study rooms that you can reserve.
I love the Brentwood library! It's so beautiful, the staff are incredible, and they offer so much. Brentwood library card holders, and I believe all contra costa county library card holders, have access to Rosetta Stone, incredible databases, free tickets once a year to various museums in the Bay Area, and the Link+ program. Many people don't take advantage of their library's services. It's not only a place to find books. They used to offer free tutoring after school too not sure if it has resumed because of Covid.
