I Love this place, I shop there alot. Everything there is just Beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Woodworkers make one of a kind finds, and they also create things out of other things too. You'll find a variety of things to look at. There are vintage pieces as well as a variety of unexpected things to see. I shop there often and I myself have bought a lovely variety of purchases. My Favorite Place To Shop. Janet Ewing
I was an employee at this store with the original owners. I worked there from September 2018- March 2019. I also had pieces consigned with them and money on my account. I had to move in April and the owner told me not to worry. I moved out of state, but I was able to keep tabs on my online account. Unfortunately, the month I moved, she started having trouble with her online accounts and I wasn’t able to keep tabs like I wanted to. She told me she would send me a check when my last piece had sold and would keep me updated. I corresponded with her all summer over email because I could never get a hold of anyone at the physical store. Apparently, at the end of summer she sold the business without telling me or her other consigners and didn’t pay us what she owed us. I live out of state now and don’t have a way to contact her other than at the store or on email. She said the sale included our consignment accounts, but that the next owners were responsible for our accounts and that our original contracts are valid. Meaning the business still owes us what is on our accounts. I can’t check my online account because it’s broken and she never fixed it. I have to go on what she has told me... which I don’t truly trust anymore and I was never able to contact the new owners... they never emailed me back and the store didn’t have a voicemail box set up. I am very disappointed in how this all went down. The store still owes me quite a chunk of money. I used to work there as her only employee other than her parents and you’d think there’d be some transparency. What is even stranger is that the business was only open for a couple of months after the sale before it folded... so maybe the sale wasn’t honest? Whatever the case, I have a contract that outlines my rights to my sold items and no way to get what I am owed easily.
I have attempted twice to check out the store. First time was closed unexpectedly due to some reason. Ok life happens. Its monday at 3pm and they are to be opened until 7pm. Locked. I would really like to check out the store and was really hoping to give a good review. Maybe I'll attempt a 3rd time in the future. Definitely will call first to see if they are open before the trip.
Great stuff for good prices. I needed a new dresser after my old drawers broke, and they had the perfect one! It was solid pine and only around $100. I did wish they were a little more help moving the furniture into my car, though.
I love this store for unique and custom designed pieces as well some great vintage finds. Kelli introduced me to their custom design center and was a doll to work with. I was blown away with their workmanship and the entire process. I continue to get compliments on my custom table. If you are looking for a custom designed piece, if you saw something on tv or online and are looking to recreate it, or simply need help from design professionals, this the place. The workmanship and design process was amazing. Also, if you are on the hunt for a vintage piece, looking for something to refinish yourself, or even have one to sell, they can help you as well. If you are having trouble finding a unique piece, let them know and they will go out of their way to locate it for you as they source items for their store. They have many different facets to their business and will bend over backwards to help you. I am a very happy customer.
The absolute best place in town to purchase furniture by far. The owner herself helped me personally in picking the right custom piece for me. The customer service here is 20/10 stars. Kelli the owner genuinely cares about what the customer is wanting/needing and settles for nothing less of 100% customer satisfaction. It seems some posts here are very bitter and spiteful. I had a younger cousin who worked here and said it was one the best jobs experience of her life. She said it helped her prepare for the real world of career. She always had nothing but praise for how the owner ran this fine establishment. Trust me if your looking for a quality product and want great personalised customer Service. The carpenter's daughter is the place for you!
I used to love coming here at the Grandview location, and the newer Fisher road location. However, I just showed up and it seems like the business is closed. There are no signs, the website has been taken down, and the phone number is no longer in service. If you’re going to shut down randomly one day, post SOMETHING somewhere so you don’t have people driving 25 minutes out of their way because hours on google and Yelp say Open. Super annoyed!
So The Carpenter’s Daughter is not open any longer. I went to buy a headboard that a consignor told me was there and they were not open on a Saturday at noon. I knocked on two doors, called and tried the alternative number provided on the outgoing message which was disconnected. Then a man from a neighboring business came out at told me that the man who bought the business from the original owners just closed up shop one day. He said people have been showing up trying to find out what’s going on or figure out how to get the stuff back that they consigned. There needs to be an updated website or the owners need to tell consignors how to get their stuff back.
Alot of neat stuff. Pretty good selection. Owners are very kind. They make furniture by hand and will make special orders if you ask them. Not sure on what all he'll make but it's worth asking about. Products range from old timey to modern. I really enjoy this place. Never know what treasures you might find. Easy access and large parking lot.
I like to shop local when I can, but stores like that make that incredibly frustrating. I'm in the market for some Howard wood products waxes, polishes, etc. Per the manufacturer's website, they're sold locally by Carpenter's Daughter at 1619 5th Avenue. Per the store's website, they're now located at Fisher Road. Unsure of the location, I call the store and get no answer. So I drive to 5th avenue to find the store no longer in that location. So then I drive to Fisher Road, only to find the store closed unexpectedly. After nearly an hour of this wild goose chase, I went home and ordered the product online.
