The CMVAS is local chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society that meets Sept- May at ASU-Jonesboro Museum
The CMVAS is part of the state wide Arknsas Archaeological Society that was formed in 1960 for the purpose of uniting all persons interested in the archeology of Arkansas, for the recognition and preservation or our cultural heritage and prehistory and for fostering the public’s interest in preservation of the past. The society encourages the scientific investigation, study and interpretation or our cultural heritage.
Our mission is to educate the public about archeology and provide information about local, regional, and national heritage issues. Our monthly meetings may include a slide lecture, a demonstration, hands-on workshop or other activities.
