Brunswick began as a stop on the C&O Canal. Soon, the great steam locomotives of the B&O Railroad replaced the tranquil transit of canal boats, and a boomtown was born. Today, Brunswick serves as a hub of the MARC rail system, carrying passengers into DC's Union Station. Brunswick's unique location makes it the perfect place for outdoor recreation, and a wonderful place to call home.

The Brunswick Family Campground offers a peaceful outdoor experience along the Potomac River, with direct River access for boating and fishing. The Brunswick Railroad Museum on West Potomac Street is a wonderland of area and railroad history. The model train layout is one of the region's best. The Brunswick City Pool, located next to the High School on Cummings Drive, is open 7 days a week in the summertime.
