David Cody is a Civil Trial Specialist who specializes in representing plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death, and Workers' Compensation cases. He is board-certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as well as the Minnesota State Bar Association, and he is a member of the Minnesota Academy of Certified Trial Lawyers. Dave has been regularly selected by his peers to be on the SuperLawyers list, as well as to Leading Minnesota Attorneys by the American Research Corporation. In three of the past years, he was selected by SuperLawyers to the Top 100 Attorneys in All Areas of Practice in Minnesota and to the top 40 Personal Injury Attorneys.
Dave frequently lectures at continuing legal education seminars and is one of the co-authors of the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Deskbook.Dave was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1970. He subsequently attended the College of St. Thomas where he graduated with Honors in 1974 with a B.A. in Political Science. In 1978 he graduated from William Mitchell College of Law with Honors and has been licensed in Minnesota for the past 34 years.
Dave has been married to Mary Jo for 37 years, and they have three children, Jim and Rob are lawyers in the Cody Law Group and Kaylyn is a Certified Public Accountant. In his spare time, Dave has been a youth soccer coach for the past 21 years.
