About

We are an RV park located on beautiful Fort Monroe, near Colonial Williamsburg and Virginia Beach Virginia. For online booking https://www.bookyoursite.com/campgrounds/the-colonies-rv-and-travel-park

Description

Our amenities include thirteen RV spots named after the thirteen original colonies. Each RV site has its own water, electricity and sewage hook up right on the site. We support both 30 and 50 amp connections. In addition there are 10 overflow spots with water and electricity.

For tent campers we offer plenty of open, shaded and even protected areas to choose from surrounding the RV area. Great for singles, couples, or large gatherings, and everything is within a baseball's throw from the water.

In addition to our RV and camping sites, our guests enjoy access to 500 feet of oceanfront beach only a 2 minute walk across the park.

Our beautiful clubhouse is stocked with supplies specifically geared toward campers or requested by others who've come before you. We have a fully equipped kitchen, movie room, eating area, showering area, and much, much more.

Guests can also relax and enjoy food, pool and fun at the Paradise Ocean Club only a 5 minute walk from the park grounds.

Make your online reservations on this site or call to talk to us directly. Act now because 2018 is filling up fast!

We are located on the lowest point of the fort and when it rains we do get standing water. We pump any standing water immediately after the rain stops. We try very hard to make your stay very comfortable, rain is something we have no control over. Also we have been informed that WiFi in the park is something in our immediate future. We love making your stay the very best and will do everything in our power that your stay is memorable.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this campground right on the water, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The location couldn't be better – waking up to the calming sounds of the waves and being able to enjoy stunning sunsets right from my campsite was a true treat. The staff at the campground were incredibly friendly and helpful. From the moment I checked in, they made me feel welcome and were always available to assist with any questions or concerns. Their warm hospitality added to the overall enjoyment of my stay. One of the best aspects of this campground was its affordability. Despite being located right on the water, the cost of staying here was surprisingly low, making it a perfect option for budget-conscious travelers like myself. I felt like I was getting a fantastic deal for the quality of the location and service. The amenities at the campground were also top-notch. There were clean restroom facilities, hot showers, and well-maintained picnic areas. The campground provided easy access to the water for swimming, kayaking, or just relaxing on the beach. Overall, I had an amazing experience at this campground. It's the perfect destination for nature lovers who want to be right on the water without breaking the bank. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and affordable getaway
Staff is amazing, camp grounds are clean, bathrooms and everything else is spotless. They have everything you would need on site at their store. I can honestly say this is one of the best camp grounds I have been on. It is right by the water. The view is spectacular. It's right by the beach and so much more. It's very safe! The police station is next to it down the street. People that camp here are respectful of others and just to revisit the staff, they go above and beyond. Overall, a grade A experience for me. I extremely recommend!
QUIET HIDDEN GEM: We camped here for a week and really enjoyed our stay! The staff are super friendly and work hard to serve their customers! There is lots to do around the campground. Fishing, beach, bayside, history with the fort, places to walk and bike, etc. The campground store is well stocked with good prices. We felt very safe here. There are guards on the island that make their rounds reguarly. If you want to site see Williamsburg/Virginia Beach area - this is a great spot to camp. If we didnt live so far away, this would be a regular campgorund on our list!
Absolutely incredible place to camp. Beautiful location, excellent amenities, and the campsite host Cindi is one of the nicest and most helpful people you'll ever meet. 10/10 across the board Rooms: 5/5
Tent camped in Ft Monroe, and the experience was awesome! Colonies RV Park is well laid out, well priced, the amenities are awesome, and the staff is very nice, and made sure our stay was excellent! Definitely recommend this spot for RV or tent camping.Service: 5/5
This is a nice place. Quite, close to restaurants, a brewery and sights . Will be back. We have a fifth wheel rv.Service: 5/5
We spent a few days camping at this meticulously maintained and extremely inviting campground and had such a nice time. The views are lovely and the hospitality is unmatched. We took full advantage of the clubhouse which offered ample space for games, TV watching, and a well-equipped kitchen. The attached store was so fun and had all the basics plus some unique finds. Rounding out our experience was a number of delightful encounters with Bo and Donna, the campground hosts and their adorable dogs, Emmett and Tessa hope she’s doing better!, as well as Rebecca and Cindy in the store who were so friendly, engaging, and full of useful information. I can’t say enough great things about this place. Thank you all for treating my family like an extension of yours. We had a blast and will definitely return.
Updated visit in June 2023. Little changed. We were put back behind the main camping area. Pedestal was leaking water so you stood on wet ground while plugging into the electricity. NOT SAFE! STILL NO WIFI. Could be a gem but they need that extra push to reach that level. We felt like we were in the ghetto part of the park. No sewer at our spot but they had a dump on the way out.
Very quite, steady wind coming off the bay but sandspurs all in the grass. Staff really nice with plenty of places to ride or walk or play in the ocean. We'll be back if you stay a mth make sure you start at the beginning of the mth. Was there Nov 13 thur Dec 16th pd out $1,600.
No room there because of the homesteaders there, and also this RV trailer park is owned now by The Paradise Club and not the city for where Ft Monroe. Is a city park, clean out the homesteaders and lower the price so others can visit and not live there, more visitors more revenue means more activities for the people.Rooms: 2/5
