Private fine art studio school
MISSION
The Conservatory for Classical Art (CCA) is a fine art studio school founded by Leslie Lienau and is located in Edmond, Oklahoma. The school offers a very specific type of art education built upon methods passed down from the artists of Italian Renaissance and the Beaux-Art traditions of the nineteenth century.
The mission of the CCA is to provide quality instruction in drawing, painting and sculpting with a deep regard for traditional and classical methods and techniques. The intensive full and part time atelier* program is based on traditional apprenticeship training methods. Instructors employed by the CCA are exceptional working artists and teachers. CCA students are trained to be highly skilled in the tradition of classical and representational visual art. The curriculum is designed to instill strong skills, knowledge and understanding of the traditional techniques and practices of the great masters in history and of present day master painters and draftsmen. The CCA offers a course of academic study to youth and central to its mission is a scholarship program to qualifying low and middle income youth.
Students train in the nineteenth century academic tradition of classical realism. The visual art curriculum includes a full and part-time long course and part-time courses in drawing, painting, color theory and sculpture. The school offers workshops instructed by the finest working artists of our time and employs a long course of serious study in the atelier tradition. The courses and workshops are designed to build excellent drawing, painting and sculpting skills for the full-time and part-time student.
