The daily specials are delicious and are made with the freshest ingredients!!! But their ‘classic’ menu is full of all the things we all love! I especially love the grilled Paninis. And the Santa Fe Chicken. It’s almost impossible to choose one meal - EVERYTHING is so tempting! And don’t get me started on their deserts! I could easily order take out from here for the next year and be satisfied - honestly, it’s that good. They have soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas and breads too! Plus they have gourmet retail products and gift baskets as well as take-out lunches and dinners, prepared foods, box lunches —— it’s just an emporium of delight, LOL.

The Cooking Company is a special emporium of incredibly tasty, freshly prepared foods and a nicely curated range of specialty grocery items that one would not find in every shop or store. Sue, the owner and Linda always in the little office to the side of the refrigerated section are generally on hand, working side by side with their staff. Always pleasant, and known by name, they make the shopping experience very personal. Nancy, the pastry chef, is a remarkable baker...incredible carrot cake, my favorite, and the best molasses cookies, among so many other sweet treats. The food is creative and freshly prepared. The selections are seasonal and very "farm to table"...Sue makes every effort to "shop local" for her foodstuffs. We moved to East Haddam in the Fall of 2001, just a few months after Sue openings Cooking Company...have been loyal customers since the beginning!

I stumbled on this place one time on a ride I was taking. When I went in I was pleasantly surprised. It had great food and it was on the go food and it also has prepared dinners you can buy for another day. I have enjoyed taking a ride to this place. I had a great turkey salad sandwich.

Love the Arizona Salad here! The staff is so kind and attentive. You really can't go wrong here. Everything is always delicious and beautifully presented. 10/10 recommend.

Great salads, sandwiches, and baked goods. Prepared entrees are good and I like the revolving menu. Atmosphere for eating in is quaint and historic with a rustic vibe. One point I would make as a critique is that it occassionally is very smokey inside Haddam from the food preparation area. They really need to work on better ventilation as it's not very healthy for associates or patrons.

I've been frequenting the Haddam location for several months now. More often during this lockdown. The food has been exceptional! Menu is definitely designed to be healthy. Staff very friendly. I value even more the convenience of the prepared foods, making life a little easier during these difficult times. Note: Never overlook their garlic bread loaves.

Wowee, very clean, amazingly friendly staff. Food looks and smells awesome! Got a bunch of stuff, even special treats for my canine friends so far I have tried the mushroom soup and it's spectacular!!

Menu changes daily, and all the food is great. Dine in or take out. Take a number, get your food, have a seat or carry your order out. No table service. Prices reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. Some excellent vegetarian options. Highly recommended!

This place is great! So many delicious items to choose from which are different daily, wholesome meals and decadent desserts all made fresh daily by great chefs and staff. The fridge is stocked with fresh meals ,salads and yummy soups to grab and go. Friendly staff too!

Consistently great food, warm and friendly crew, and affordable pricing. I drive 50 minutes from my home in Canton for a few days worth of yummy, creative meals. I highly recommend The Cooking Company in Haddam.
