Founded by Chris Anderson, the Coop has become an integral part of Vashon's music and party scene. The Coop is constantly evolving to support the growth of the surrounding community, and to better suit the needs and desires of its attendees and creators.
The Coop is currently a free venue for live music and parties where the number one priority is to have a good time. Although the Coop hasn't been around for long, it has already proven its worth. Although some refer to the place as 'a no good hillbilly dive', the Coop still seems to be a hot spot for musical action of all levels of sophistication. There have been many supporters of the Coop through its creation, and it goes without saying that this establishment would not be in existance without the help of the family and friends of Mr. Anderson who so graciously have donated their services, supplies, energy, and love of music to this project. Although this is a free venue, there are of course costs for creating and maintaining the space, so donations are always welcome, and can be deposited in the Coop's tip jar at the venue. There will be periodic events and occasions at the Coop, so stay tuned for when the next party is happening!
