I was pleasantly surprised! We booked super last minute day of because my partner likes to use the Hotel Tonight app. They were able to get us a room before the standard check in time at no extra charge. The staff interactions were just great. The highlight of our stay was how *COZY* this place is. Our bed was so comfy! Also, the complex is lush with plants and greenery. Our room had a cute, A-frame ceiling slant, too. I can't wait to return. The only negatives were that the rooms did seem a little dated, and the parking fee was kind of steep per day, on top of the resort fee, too.
I have to start with the staff at this hotel. I think they're fabulous. I stay here as part of the Susan G Komen 3-day which means the hotel complex is packed with crazy people dressed in pink. Still they go out of their way to accommodate us, they let us split the room bill, they put out hot cookies and coffee for us. Honestly they are very kind and very patient. So if I could give them 10 stars for service I absolutely would. This is probably my sixth stay at this hotel. The double rooms tend to be on the small side. But I knew that going in. Mattresses could be replaced at this point. The King suites are lovely and many have a nice view. It's easy to get back and forth to the airport, Old Town, and many of the other important sites in the San Diego area. You can't beat it for location and price. I'll be back, just hope they replace the mattresses.
Loved the rooms overlooking the bay and marina. Nice layout, furnishings. Great breakfast buffet. Very nice pool and spa. Easy access to walking , Nice trails. Be sure to request junior suite or better yet a suite.. These are rooms in the range 1100-2999. There are 2 different sides to this place. The other side does not look all that appealing. I could be wrong but you will see hit and miss reviews on this place. My bet is the miss reviews were all on the other side of the resort. Not rooms 1100-2999. Great front desk, housekeeping and restaurant staff. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.
This was the second time I stayed at The Dana. 1st time I stayed was in their Deluxe Room. Beautiful spacious room with a beautiful view of the bay. Was awesome! This time I stayed in their standard room. Super tiny room. The beds are uncomfortable. The room was very stuffy. Their service was good. They take care of you. Took a shuttle to SeaWorld for free. That was awesome. Overall the resort is nice. It is worth staying at if you get the deluxe room. All in all, I do recommend the resort.
Don't stay here. The pictures look nice. But they stick you in the back of a poorly "re done" hotel 6. Rooms are gross. Had to clean the shower before I showered. For how much I payed...I would think that the room would be clean. Nope. Not worth the money. You could find cleaner and way better hotels for half the price they have you pay. I certainly have.
Loved the location, amenities, and the restaurant. My kids loved the nightly pool movie every night. We did stay in an older room and it was a little cramped, next time we stay I will for sure get an updated room. The SeaWorld shuttle is really convenient but when requesting a shuttle led us waiting over 45 minutes during midday.
Decided to have a staycation in SD and so glad I did! The hotel was amazing, service was excellent and I cannot recommend The Dana enough. The resort is ADA friendly and great for people who want to relax for a few days! Special thanks to Alexia and Liliana at the front desk and housekeeping for adding a cute towel pet.
The staff was very friendly, the pool and hot tub were very nice, and the room although a little dated, was nice. My only complaint was parking. There is no guest parking or even a spot to park upon check in. Overall, a good choice for the price.Rooms: 4/5
Juan helped my Husband and I check in for our Honeymoon as was very accommodating and helpful! We even got an upgrade on our room with a better view. The staff was also great at the restaurant, FireFly I think, and had good food. There was plenty of parking and everyone was respectful. We will visit the Dana again.Rooms: 5/5
We had our wedding here and it was PERFECT. Christina Gold was our venue coordinator and wow she was amazing. She was so timely, responsive, knowledgeable, caring and every other amazing thing. She helped us have the perfect wedding day. We are still raving about how beautiful everything was. Thank you so so so muchRooms: 5/5
