Celebrated our wedding anniversary here and the place didn’t disappoint. Service from check in was great, friendly staff and prompt service. Food was spectacular! It’s pricey but the whole place and ambience will make you feel special. I just don’t like that the tables are really close to each other that the next table’s conversations are very audible. But I guess you have to really reserve early to get the best quiet-ish spot. Overall, a great place to celebrate a special occasion or have an exquisite fine dining experience. We’ll go back!
Went for my mom's birthday, such a great time! Beautiful venue, delicious food and drinks. Can't wait to go back!
I was honestly disappointed in this restaurant. The back bar has a great vibe, but for dinner we were seated in the front dining area. The music choice was an awful mix of club music, rap, and random classical songs all of which ruined the atmosphere. The servers were too busy taking shots to even notice empty glasses or when I dropped my fork on the floor, despite other patrons noticing. And to top it off the food was average & overpriced.
What used to be a special place for celebrations is now off the list. The food is mediocre at best. Steak was tough. Mashed and Mac/cheese sides were no better than I can quickly whip up at home. It’s a shame as the quality and flavor profiles used to be excellent. Ambiance and service are still good.
This was our first trip. The building was pretty. We were party of 5. We were placed at a large round table couldn’t hear across the table. The table wobbled. They had an out of workers but it gave the vibe as it was a training in a culinary school. No one really checked on us. We ordered our cocktails, we had a spicy margarita, presentation was trendy but tasted decorated with basic table salt. No agave or taste. Just salty tequila. When we ordered our meals there was no specials. The food was tepid, scallops didn’t have a sear, pork chop under seasoned and no sear, lamp was just not great. Don’t like to give a low rating but we were underwhelmed from the hospitality to the food. Also it’s definitely not cheap. Maybe it just was an off night.
Fantastic experience in The Rathskeller! James was an excellent bartender and the service staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Our party enjoyed all of the passed hors d'oeuvres. We will definitely be going for a sit down dinner in the near future.Food: 5/5
Sadly, the wrong choice. The dinner menu was not available at 6pm on a Sunday. The mobile app did not explain that "Brunch" is served all day on Sundays, so instead of steak frites, we got steak & eggs with fries for $32 per person. No one knew what cut of meat it was. The good: The fries were fabulous with a hint of vinegar. Piping hot and fried to a perfect crisp. The venue is beautiful. Steak was delicious and done right. The eggs were ok but just odd. South African Cabernet was very good The bad: Service was very slow and uncoordinated. 40 minutes until we were served. We wanted wine, so bought by-the-glass. We were wondering why our glasses came empty as if we were getting a bottle. We were half-way through our meal before the glasses were filled. No one checked to see how we were doing throughout the entire meal. No one asked how our meal was at the end. No one asked if we wanted dessert. Not a pleasant experience all around after a long, hard week looking forward to a good meal.
This has easily moved its way to the top of my list for a nice dinner in Morristown, excellent cocktails, respectable beer list, consistently well executed menu. Compared to other restaurants in this price range Jockey Hollow exceeds expectations in all aspects of the dining experience.Food: 5/5
Entered through service elevator by bath rooms. Staff was not well trained and not customer focused. Music in restaurant was "guns & roses" rock...nothing against them but when we commented that it wasn't 'fine dining' vibe we were informed they were going for a more casual vibe. Prices and obstentious menu disagree. Food was luke warm with too much salt, but tasty. Portions on the small side which would be ok if it was truly elevated dining. Capachinno machine wasn't working. Needless to say we did not stay for dessert.
Food was excellent and drinks were great but service was a bit disjointed… not clear who our waiter was and asked the same questions a few times. Views and environment were great.
