The Don'key Mexican Food
"A Pasadena landmark since 1984, The Don’Key is a Tex-Mex institution where the chips and salsa are always flowing, the Don’KeyRitas pack a punch and the Mexican food can’t be beat. Next time you’re in the neighborhood, stop by The Don’Key for lunch or dinner and a party, of course — no passport required."

I’ve been here several times it’s one of the best Tex-mex restaurants in the area. We were lucky to meet with Haley who been working in this years for over than three years. She gave good recommendations from their huge list! Very comfortable place and super clean large parking lot inside bar. Awesome staff too! Highly recommended
I enjoyed a delightful lunch with my family. I ordered the green chili chicken enchiladas, and I must say, both the food and service were truly exceptional. The restaurant exuded a fun ambiance, and the staff was incredibly friendly.Food: 5/5
Let me first start by saying I went on Cinco De Mayo! Food was good. The nachos were my favorite. We did the shot with the worm! The festivities were cool but the shot itself was TERRIBLE. 12/10 do not recommend. The atmosphere was loud. We had to yell to talk to each other. The service was not great but gave a pass because they were very busy.
The Don’Key is always a great place to hang out with friends and have good food. Love their Don’key balls as an appetizer or even your full meal. If you love cheese and fajita meat this is something you don’t want any to miss. It’s a signature dish.Food: 5/5
Nothing special about this place. My crunchy tacos meat was bland and dry. My son liked his quesadilla and I thought the salsa and chips were good. Would not come here again.
Really rude service. Waitress Mari or Maria would scoff at the simplest requests. Then they served an completely inedible plate of enchiladas that were overly smothered with some mediocre green sauce, so much that I couldn’t even touch the beans/rice without getting three times the sauce in any bite. When I initially said something to our waitress, she laughed, scoffed again and walked away. Ended up losing my appetite after the level of service and food served. Sad, because I heard this was a popular and well loved spot. I really wanted to like it, but my experience was anything but great.
I got married there today. From start to finish, the staff made this one of the best days of my life. Management, servers, hostess, chefs....EVERYTHING was PERFECT! I cannot find words to adequately express how great this place was or how grateful I am. I highly recommend them!Food: 5/5
We ate here for lunch today and it was phenomenal. I recommend the don'key balls, pork fajitas, and Pinche Paloma... we will definitely be back! Parking: Lots of great parking
I took my family to this restaurant at 3 pm on a Sunday. The place was nearly empty, and for some reason they thought it was necessary to seat all the customers in a small area LITERALLY elbow to elbow. If you like strangers in your personal space while you eat then disregard this review. I’ll never go back. They lost my business forever. 0/10 would not recommend.
Food was DELICIOUS! We had the fajitas for two, and what it even better was the service we received. We sat outside and the young Caucasian male was SUPER great and VERY tentative on us. Would definitely recommend going back, based off the service alone.Food: 5/5
