The Wiekamp Educational Resource Commons (WERC) provides K-12 teacher resource materials and a creative production area for faculty, students, staff and the broader Michiana community. We are located in The Education and Arts building room 2010.
WERC hours are:
Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Hours will vary between semesters, in summer and during holiday breaks. Check the website or call 520-4120.
Library/ Curriculum Resources
The WERC K-12 curriculum library includes: textbooks, teaching aids, activity books, hands on materials (i.e. puzzles,and games), & juvenile books. The WERC provides 2 unique curriculum kits: A Lincoln Highway curriculum unit (3/4th grade) and the Maasai kits (elementary, middle, high school levels for checkout. Community users not affiliated with IU South Bend may obtain a library card by presenting a driver’s license or other valid picture ID.
Creative Production Area
Large work tables, visual production equipment, paper supplies, color laser printer help create visual aids for instructional purposes. All IU South Bend Faculty, staff, & students may utilize the WERC’s visual production equipment to create displays, posters and flyers. Training in the use of the equipment is provided by WERC staff. Tours and Class
We encourage you to drop by to visit this unique campus resource. Tours, course-specific group instruction and general orientation sessions can also be scheduled.
