The Driller LLC is an underground utility construction company with decades of experience in the trenchless industry serving Iowa and the Midwest.
Originally founded by Gene Miller, Miller The Driller, in 1948. Over the years the company grew, and Gene's daughter, Kris Young, joined the business in l974. Gene and Kris continued to add the new technologies and innovations that became Trenchless Technology. In l990, Kris' son, Brandon joined the organization making it a third generation construction company.
In 2012 Miller The Driller went through a merger and the new company, The Driller LLC, was formed. Although not owners, Brandon and Kris are still at the business in their respective management roles, and still active in the construction industry. The tough projects seem to be the norm, and the skilled workforce at The Driller LLC take on the challenges daily.
Brandon Young has served in various capacities of the National Utility Contractors Association, including Chapter President and a Regional Vice President.
Kris Young has served actively in the Associated General Contractors of Iowa, Chapter President in 1995. Kris has the distinct honor to have served as the first female President of the Associated General Contractors of America in 2011. She continues to serve in various capacities and a carries that coveted title of Past President.
