The Edge is truly the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. Even the carpet is spotless! The rooms are spacious and offered extras like in room coffee and a fridge for snacks. The employees were friendly and appeared to be happy at work. Management must be phenomenal to make this place a happy friendly environment for guests. Breakfast was plentiful with my favorite bagels and Philadelphia cream cheese, coffee, juice, fresh waffles etc. great way to start my day. The location is close to hiking, and the trail system but also a couple restaurants and stores. We have stayed here several times and will definitely stay every time we’re in the area.
My husband won a 2 night stay in the king size jacuzzi suite. I think it took us all of 6 minutes to hop in the jacuzzi. We were ready for the relaxation! The hotel is immaculate and staff was friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.Rooms: 5/5
This hotel is located in Lyons Falls and is settled on a graveled lot. The hotel is older but rustic, quaint. The rooms are lacking in any modern feel, with the drapery matching the bedspreads. They do offer free eats in the mornings filled with pastries and drinks, not a hot breakfast, though. The outside appeal is charming, and so is the lobby area. I am grateful they had pet friendly rooms, but only have a select amount to offer. Basically, first come, first serve to those traveling with pets. My biggest gripe would be the dust from the gravel. It was constant and everywhere. My car was completely engulfed in a halo of dust the next morning. When my son and I went out to the available playground on premises, we were bombarded by clouds of dust from the ATV trails and parking lot. If I found myself in that area ever again, I would stay again because there are no other options.
Love the Edge! I've stayed here multiple times for the snirt atv run. Always friendly and accommodating. Rooms are basic, but always clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good but always wished there were some more hot items. But now Boondocks restaurant in front of the hotel has a breakfast buffet on the weekends I could always go to that. Will definitely stay again!
**This is for Edge Hotel in Clearwater FL! ** This was a solo "get away from it all" short trip after an extremely stressful 6 months. The best part -- The pools! Especially the infinity pool facing the gulf. The deck with the pools is to die for. They are lit up at night with beautiful colors. Both pools are heated. Nice bar with music. Really amazing. The deck/bar/pools get 5 stars. They also give out pool towels at the front desk which is nice and convenient. The room -- I had a gulf king front. It was a pretty standard room but with an amazing view. One thing that is really odd -- the balconies don't have lights. So its kind of useless after dark. I think next time I would just get a less expensive room with no view for the amount of time I spent there and the fact that you can't really use the balcony too well at night. Bed was decent, no complaints on the room. Cleaning -- ehh. When I got there I was early check in is at 4 I believe. But when I booked I was asked what time I'd be there and I wrote noon. And the auto confirmation said see you at noon. So I thought maybe it would be ready early. I actually got there around 2 and the room wasn't ready. Which was fine but why ask what time I'm going to be there when I book? But I think they hurried to get it done and the rug definitely wasn't vacuumed. I did ask to get a full service cleaning the next day because of this and it was done each day. Location -- quick five minute walk straight to Clearwater beach. There are also trolleys. I walked everywhere - most everything I wanted to do was within 30 minute max walk and t he beach, Pier 60 are just straight from the hotel, not a tough walk. Ok here is where it gets rough... the customer service. And I say this with complete sincerity -- I have had Chik Fil A workers more invested in how my experience was ordering and eating a $10 sandwich than the folks were at this hotel. Everyone looked miserable I saw that in other reviews too. No smiles. When I checked in my card was declined. I was calling the bank and really worried. The guy realized he had quoted me the wrong amount without tax so that was why it was declined. Not a stress free way to start a trip. They are mostly kids up front. I don't know where the managers were, most of the times no one was up front. I asked a maid going by if I could grab a piece of toilet paper off her cart to blow my nose. She actually said no , I would have to ask the front desk... strange. And there was confusion over my grand total when I called and the guy I spoke to was rude. For a higher end hotel I'd expect better than average customer service, I was pretty surprised.. a lot of "blah" looking bored people looking irritated to even be there. I do have a suggestion -- the woman in the gift shop was wonderful. Full of helpful info, smiley, happy, eager to assist. I would recommend she teach the younger kids customer service skills. She was great! There were families with kids but also a lot of drunk partygoers. I'd love to take my daughter down to Clearwater, not sure I'd say this was the best place for those with a family though. Definitely would never bring a family down during spring break party time. Would I stay again or recommend? Depends. First I'd research some other places nearby and if they had comparable location/costs/pools I might look elsewhere. The pools are what makes this place though... improve the cleaning a bit and train the front desk and I'd give five stars.
Very rustic, and super clean. Highly recommended and the Boondocks Restaurant and bar along with Marinos Pizza are only steps away.Rooms: 5/5
The price of an available room was close to $200 per night. This is way too much for what you get, otherwise it is a decent place to sleep with breakfast included although meats or eggs would've been nice. Noteworthy details: Expensive in price.
Me and my partner stopped over here on our way back to Canada from NYC. The lady at the front desk was lovely, the front hall has deer heads and big comfy chairs and the mud room smells like cedar. We splurged on the king jet tub room for a laugh and it was very clean and smelled nice. Little fridge and coffee machine in the room, but light breakfast is available in the morning if you like. As mentioned in other comments, beds not the best. Not terrible, just lacking a pillow top or something. For one night was fine. We went to the bar / restaurant next door for dinner and the next day went for a few short hikes of the area before heading home. The area is beautiful. All in all a decent price for a lodge style hotel. It feels like the place is cared for and it was a nice vibe. Would for sure visit again.
Nice rooms and staff was very friendly and helpful. I needed a copy an email and they made it for me.Rooms: 5/5
Great hotel and fairly priced. This is the place we pick when visiting my hometown.
