The Fitness Mechanic

I have a mixed opinion of this business. Vince, the technician, came out to look at our treadmill. The belt was skipping, and we were advised that the $175 fee included the tune up. Vince stated that the belt needed to be replaced and would eventually start tearing and refused to do the tune up due to safety reasons. The belt is not in torn or ripped condition, so I feel that this company charges this exorbitant fee without completing the actual service as agreed upon. They then cite a “safety issue” and refuse to do any more work. There are more establishments doing this nowadays, and I think it is poor business practice. Then I should have the option of not paying them…as much as they should provide the option of offering a waiver stating that I will not pursue litigation if the machine malfunctions and I get hurt as I agreed to pay $175 for a specific service and they expected payment for doing nothing. He was a nice enough guy but was only here for 10 minutes and did not attempt to do the tune up. I can’t recommend them.

Over the summer of 2022 our Life Fitness T3 treadmill motor failed. The technician, Rob, was able to get all the parts necessary for replacement under warranty. Just had to pay for labor. Had to come back due to a cracked board as well that was creaking later in the summer, also under warranty. Rob was very easy to work with and did a great job explaining what was wrong and what we could do lubricate with stick & sponge device to help prevent in the future. The call center reps were also great understanding our situation and scheduling appointments. We will be using them for annual maintenance/internal cleaning.

The technician was able to order my parts that were under warranty Service was fast Besides fixing my treadmill, he also did something he did not have to, which was to level it And I really appreciated The action

Terrific Service! My treadmill cord got disconnected. Rob came out and not only got it running for me but also gave it a tune up and despite the heavy weight of the machine was able to reposition it to give me more room. Couldn’t be happier with their service and reasonable price! Highly recommend the Fitness Mechanic!

Do not use. Have spent over $1,000 dollars getting my octane elliptical fixed. First fixed my main drive motor. Next one of the stride motors went out. Since one side went out, had then replace both left and right stride motor. Little over 3 months later left stride motor started to code out again. Called and was told that parts warranty was only good for 3 months. Motor finally gave out so I had them back out and motor was bad. I ordered the part my self and talked to Octane only to find out the motor's was warranty was for 6 months not 3. Have talked to to people at fitness mechanic and they have not offered to help me out in any way except for paying them more money. Do yourself a favor and find another company that backs up their work.

Recently had them out to repair my Hayward pool heater. The technician they sent out couldn't have more kind, polite or courteous. Very professional. Not to mention, they did an amazing job. And the price was extremely reasonable! I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to have their pool heater repaired.

Had the pleasure of of having Gene i believe his name was, come to the house on short notice and repair my machine for a really fair price. Within a hour he was all done and now running like new even suggested getting minor things fixed before they wear out . Will definitely call again for service

I called to have a tech out to tune-up at my treadmill. The tech came out and originally said there was nothing wrong with the machine but after I showed him the problem, he stated that it could be the belt, the deck, or the fact that I was using an extension cord. Then said since we didn't want to pay $1000 to fix the machine he was going to charge us $100. When I contacted the office to say how displeased I was he stated he could do the tune-up which was spraying some lubricant, vacuuming the inside, and spraying down the outside of the machine but he guaranteed me that it would not fix anything and also said that he would charge me the additional $40 to do so. Do yourself a favor and call an actual professional to look at the machine instead of these guys!!

We have 3 commercial use treadmills and they always repair any issues we have. Very quick and responsive.

Great service for my Precor elliptical. I recommend TFM without reservation for their diligence and expertise.
