Take your first flight, the Discovery Flight, and you are officially beginning your journey to pilothood. Your Discovery Flight takes you and a trained instructor on an approximately 30-minute-long flight to familiarize you with the airplane, the airport and the general awe of taking the controls of a safe, reliable Cessna aircraft for the first time, thousands of feet above the earth.

So when you decide you’re ready for more than just your head in the clouds, call us to schedule your Discovery Flight today for only $89!

The Private Pilot Certification Course

The Private Pilot Certification Course allows the pilot to use an airplane for his/her pleasure, recreation, or business trips. As a Private Since learning to fly an airplane – or any other aircraft –is, in part, an ‘eye – hand’ skill. It is difficult to publish a price certain for this course. Under our FAA Approval, one could complete the course with a total time of only 35 hours. Realistically, one should not expect to receive Private Pilot Certificate at the minimum published time.

Many flight schools publish and collect funds for 50 hours or more. But, if you complete the course early, rarely are those unused hours credited back to you.

The Instrument Rating

The Instrument Rating will permit the licensed pilot to operate a single-engine airplane in the environment of instrument flight rules. While most flying is done "on top", in blue skies and sunshine, the instrument pilot is prepared for flight in the clouds from take-off till touchdown.

For a full-time trainee, this 40hr course could be completed in as little as 10 days, including the ground prep and written test. The Flight School makes use of our Frasca 132 simulator throughout the instrument program whenever a new procedure or concept is introduced. This saves our students time, money, and assures understanding of the new material. This instrument rating course could be done in an airplane as economical as a Cessna 152. However, we recommend a 4 place airplane for added stability and additional radio prnavigation aids

The Commercial Pilot Certification Course

The Commercial Pilot Certification Course will permit the pilot to fly for compensation or hire. At last – someone pays you to fly! Commercial privileges are limited (banner towing, sight seeing, photo flight, etc.) unless the holder has an instrument rating. It is possible to get just the “Limited Commercial”, ask us how.

Under Part 141 (approved school) a Private Pilot Certificate is required to enroll in the Commercial Pilot Course. However, you must be the holder of an Instrument Rating or be concurrently enrolled in the Instrument Rating Course.

Our pricing is based on the minimum flight times required by the FAA and is computed using the least expensive, appropriate, airplanes. You may train in any of our single-engine airplanes, but this may increase your course cost.

The Commercial Course (120 hours) and The Instrument Course (35 hours) will combine to be a total flight time of 155 hours. Although these are FAA Minimum Flight Times our experience has been that most student will graduate the Commercial – Instrument courses within 10% of these times

The Professional Pilot Course

The Professional Pilot Course will prepare the Private Pilot for a place in the aviation job market. This 155 hour program will take the Private Pilot through the Instrument Rating (airplane single engine) and the Commercial Pilot Certificate.

The Professional Pilot Course cost listed below assumes the trainee has a U.S. Private Pilot Certificate and a total flight time of at least 40 hours.

A Commercial Pilot Certificate is required to fly for hire. Once an applicant has completed our Professional Program he or she is ready for employment in the general aviation industry. An applicant seeking employment in the general aviation industry will usually spend one to two years gaining experience in general aviation before airline application.

A full-time student (6 days a week) could complete the Professional Pilot Course in as little as 90 days. A part-time trainee may take up to 24 months. Full-time students should schedule the start of their training at least 10 days in advance to ensure availability of equipment and staff.

For those private pilots who already hold an instrument rating and at least 240 hrs of flight time, and who meet the minimum experience requirements of Part 61 of the Federal Air Regulations, we offer a ten hour "Test Course". The total cost of the test course will be determined after we have completed an audit of your logbook. Expect a cost of about $2,000.

FAA required written test may be taken on site at The Flight School with immediate res
