OUR STORY:
The Flower & Art Project is an eclectic vintage flower shop located in West Omaha with lots of personality. Our build out is almost completely created from recycled, repurposed and upcycled items found in our favorite places to “shop”; the back trees of my childhood family farm, second hand shops, Craigslist, throw away piles, donated “treasures” from supporters, and yes, we've been known to crawl into more than one dumpster. The "scrapping" seems to be in the bloodline as Dad, Grandpa Gubbels, Uncle Rich and probably generations before succumbed to this adrenaline rush of finding purpose in something discarded. So what started out as finding a few items to accessorize the flower shop became a quest to use only items that had a past.
WHAT WE DO:
We sell fresh flowers and plants with a delivery service to the Omaha area. We do not subscribe to a wire service with the hope, that by cutting out the middleman we can give our customers the best value for their money. Along with our floral department, we also sell original art created by local artists on consignment. We create and sell handcrafted jewelry, along with an extensive collection of charms for "everyday wear". We have Nebraska pride T-shirts, painted and unpainted vintage furniture, Old Town chalk paint, Comfort Candles, Leanin' Tree greeting cards (oh my goodness, they are so funny), Adagio soaps and lotions (manufactured right here in Omaha), clay pots, baskets, vintage items and so much more. We are in love with “functional art”, things that are beautiful and useful. We are actively looking for products made in the USA.
