Great store. While pricing isn't exactly "family friendly" for most, a visit doesn't have to be too pricy. Their meats and seafood are awesome and competitively priced, and they have a lot of excellent and competitively priced private label lines. Baked goods are phenomenal, but not cheap. All in, glad to have it right in my new neighborhood.
Love this Fresh Market. Lots of big smiles, very clean floors, and well stocked on all products. Easy parking, and the final goodby is at the cashiers. My last visit yesterday Hannah took care of me with huge big smiles, asking me if I found everything. And finally asking me if I am a Veteran, which I am proud to say I am. She said today only Fresh market is doing a military discount of 10 %. She also mentioned both her parents are also Veterans. NICE ! Thanks again Fresh Market Wahoooooo
This place is so horrible that I literally am losing sleep over it until I express myself in this review. I live an hour away, but my partner and I frequently are in the area. Going to “boutique” markets is a favorite hobbies. We LOVE Brothers, We first went to Fresh Market 9 months ago. Although I did not see a price for a Halloween candy bag of Mallo Cups, I bought it figuring how bad could it be. I was surprised to see it was $10 for a small bag. The candy was in such bad shape that I tossed most of it. I also bought pricey General Tsao’s chicken from the prepared food section. I do not remember details but recall that too was awful. There was at least a third issue, which I do not recall, with the handful of items that I bought. I looked for information for the owners a few days later and found corporate office information for FM that had the same logo as the Hingham Market. They asserted that they did not own it. I recall great difficulty getting a manager on the telephone. He largely was unresponsive. I recall asking either for a credit-card refund or a gift card for the items with which there were issues. He refused and said he would “take care of” me the next time that I was in. I signed up for the loyalty program before knowing of the issues. A couple of weeks ago, I received a birthday offer for a free slice of “ultimate” birthday cake. My partner and I had an “ultimate” lunch at nearby Alma Nove on July 8, and I went into FM at 1:15 pm for the cake. I planned to check out specialty impulse items, but my partner stayed in the car to keep AC going that hot day. FM was a virtual ghost town. There was a middle-aged man, a middle-aged woman, and a high-school girl working empty registers. I politely asked the man where the bakery department was. For some reason, he clearly and unequivocally directed to the complete opposite corner of the store. While walking toward the bakery department in this mostly empty store, I saw a heavyset middle-aged woman quickly walking to that department and another employee joking with her that she was rushing back to help with all the customers. I arrived at the bakery department a few seconds behind that woman. She and another bakery department employee stared at each other for a few seconds before I politely asked for help. I told the unsmiling woman who had just arrived back at the department that I had the offer for the cake, and I showed her the e-mail as that message directed. She did not say a word or smile, let alone go through the pretense of saying happy birthday. Many of the pasteries looked tempting, but I was not interested in looking through them at that point. I did see an empty spot I labelled $52 in the impulse items area and wondered what possibly could cost that much. On getting back to the empty registers, the man still was at his register furthest from me. The woman was standing at the end of the register, and the girl who was closest to me was standing behind her register. Once more, I was the only one smiling. I asked the woman to whom I should go. Rather than smile and say that she would be glad to help me, the woman said that it was my choice. I chose the girl, who also did not smile or say a word, because she already was standing behind the register. I told her that I had the offer for the cake and gave her my loyalty number. Again, no smile or happy birthday. I already had noticed that the pretty small slice did not have much frosting or look very “ultimate.” I noticed when putting it on the conveyor belt that there were several bald spots. It seems that putting frosting all over the outside of a cake is basic. I would take and post a photo if I was not writing this at 3:30 a.m. in the hope of getting back to sleep. The girl rang up the cake and said that I could take the cake and leave. I had to ask her for a bag, and she looked very put out. I was nothing but friendly in all this. I will limit my shopping to Trader Joe’s next door next time.
What a lovely market with a variety of organic items! It was our first time at the Shipyard and it was such a great time. We bought so many many delicious snacks and cannot wait to return!
Perfect place to grab a yummy organic lunch, something for dinner, that cheese you've been looking for, an amazing selection of meat, every oil imaginable, and marshmallow peeps. I'd have given 5 stars if signage had been better from the backside of the building. But the things i bought? 5 stars all the way!!! Especially the panini, the cheese selection, and the wide variety of trail mix and nut mixes.
I love this supermarket. Something about the atmosphere in here make it feel like home. Everyone is so friendly in here. I'd definitely come here more often
I love the Fresh Market. I used to live right by it and go shopping there all the time. Today, there were a couple items spices that I needed for a recipe that are common and they didn't have it in stock. Also, the bell peppers that they had didn't look too great.
UPDATE: Spoke with Mike GM and he was great. Helpful, apologetic and sincere. Thank you Mike for resolving the issue and making us feel welcomed. went in bought 2 items and they charged me 11 times for 1 item. When I spoke to the manager about my issue I was told what do you want me to do about it...Fix it! luckily a cashier was able to figure it out and fix it. NOT THE MANAGER. He is rude! Check your receipts when leaving make sure they don't over charge you.
Great food if you are not a club member you must join for additional savings. It is free to join and no cards are required just give them your phone number at checkout
High quality items, candy bar, great coffee.
