Description

Bucktown's premier destination for live music and entertainment. Never a cover. Shows every night of the week. Our stage hosts all kinds of musical acts, four comedy shows each week and even poetry nights every other Tuesday! Our open mics are the best in town. Beer specials Sunday through Thursday, and patrons enjoy a free dinner buffet Sunday nights with a two drink minimum.

Cool dive bar with distinctive interior. Space doesn’t not amplify sound well and can be difficult to have conversation if there’s rock music. Staff seemed limited for weekend night. The music is original and sometimes quite good. Drink prices are reasonable.Service: 3/5
We went to Gallery Cabaret for the first time on a Thursday night to watch a friend perform for their Thursday Open Mic night. We found a very relaxed friendly atmosphere and really enjoyed listening to all the performances. They have a nice selection of beer. Maxim, the bartender, provides fantastic friendly service and mixes great cocktails. We found nearby free street parking. We talked to quite a few friendly people and even met a couple of friendly dogs. We'd definitely return for Open Mic night or one of their other themed nights.
Love the art displayed throughout the bar & good vibe with people, however, service lacked. Ditch the neon green hair & authoritarian ego behind bar.Service: 1/5

The Gallery Cabaret is the perfect place to catch local performers and hang out with friends.
Guess what? I got a new phone, and all my reviews didn't transfer, so I'm back on level five as a so called local guide. But everything I said about the gallery still holds true. Drink specials, art shows, live music every night, lots of open mics, and a great crowd. The only downside is that service may be slow, and Kenny is well known for being a cheap mother fuer. But the free food on Sunday is great, and the salad is top notch, if you're not a meat eater. I highly recommend you make it out to this place. Put it on your bucket list.
This place gets my vote. Killer live music, especially on Mondays, and a cool crowd of open micers and jammers on non band nights. Also, monthly art shows, and comedy hours. You really can't go wrong. So go. Say hi if you see me.

Fun place with good events and they don't pressure you to buy a ton of drinks. I enjoyed Saturday's poetry show.
