The Gaming Cantina is a gaming store that sells games (board, card, miniatures, RPG), collectables, and runs events to support our gaming community.

Description

We are a small game store with a big heart! We are located in the historic downtown of Charlotte, Michigan.

We opened in October 2014 as a computer repair and ink/toner retail store. Yes, that's right we didn't start off as a game store!

So how did we get from where we started to where we are now? Because in April 2015, Brian "Bossman" Dempsey, decided to add a second revenue stream to the store to help fill his down time with his passion for playing games. Little did he know how hungry our little town was for a place to play, buy, and socialize with games. So although we still offer computer repair services, our primary retail is a fun, weird, wacky, and friendly neighborhood game store.

Wow! I wasn't expecting a cool gaming store when I visited Charlotte to see family. Great selection of Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, miniatures, and miscellaneous tabletop games. Large space for playing games with your friends and fellow gamers. Highly recommend checking this place out.

This place is so awesome and everyone I’ve had the pleasure of meeting here were very nice. We have a habit of kind of ‘requesting’ they recommend games for us and every single one we’ve purchased this way we play often. They seriously know their stuff! Love having this awesome shop close by.

I love it here but you guys don't sell singles anymore? When I asked why I couldn't buy the Vs I saw a few days prior I was told you guys are not allowed to sell loose cards anymore and to go buy online instead.

Friendly staff. Fair prices. Good atmosphere.

It’s an incredible inviting atmosphere with knowledgeable staff ready to help you if you have any questions. The owner is just as friendly and inviting. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with him wile looking for a gift for a friend.

The selection for d&d figures an mats were wild! Also had a wonderful collection of funko pops and other table top games. I'm a little disappointed they did not have used video games though.

Friendly, welcoming staff that offer great knowledge of their products. A wide variety of games from boardgames to collectables. Always a fun stop!

I have had mixed experiences with this store. It appears that they are improving their inventory.  In the past couple of years I have been in the store and invited to run family games at times. I did not follow up to do so because of the language that was frequently profane from some of the gamers there. There were other factors also, but I was greeted by the staff and service was reasonable.  I would like to be able to improve my rating, but I visited the store today and there were people at the gaming table who said hello when we came in, but nobody got off of their seat to address us as customers. A young girl was stationed at the register and she seemed very uncomfortable; friendly, but she didn't appear to want to be there. It was difficult to hear her and nobody was guiding her to run the register. She appeared very young, I would guess about 13 or so.  I would like to be able to promote this store, as it is a local business and I have a local gaming group. But every customer should be addressed respectfully; not just the convenient ones.  The other store that I frequent makes sure to address each customer, they offer a discount loyalty program and they act on customer feedback to improve. The Gaming Cantina could benefit from a like business model.

I learned about this place thanks to free RPG day and I am so glad I visited. This place is exactly what I have been looking for. A gaming store with plenty of RPGs plus lots of modules from my favorite RPG system DCC and tabletop games. Clean and friendly this is the kind of friendly local gaming store that I want to support and become a regular at. If you visit I am sure you will feel the same way.

Found some hard to find gems at this little shop. I loved it!
