We LOVED this restaurant. Kind of a farm to table feel. Indoor and outdoor seating facing the Marina. I got the fried Brie burger. It was so delicious. Also, we had the cheese curds for an app. They're basically little baby mozzarella sticks breaded with corn flour!
This place seems very new. It’s awkwardly laid out with restrooms upstairs. I ordered the crab claws in the sherry cream sauce - so good! I also ordered the mashed potatoes which weren’t that good - I’m a mashed potato expert! My husband got the seafood platter. The oysters were just okay. Not the best we had on the trip. My poor brother is allergic to shellfish and they had to cook his hamburger separately. The hamburger was so over cooked that it was charred. See the picture We waited forever for the waiter to come back and check on us so my brother could have his food returned. Instead of getting another, he decided to pass.
I ordered the chili and meatloaf. The chili was nothing more than hamburger meat cooked in grease. No onions, peppers, beans, cheese etc. Lacking all the common chili ingredients. The meatloaf had good flavor, however, all the food came out "lukewarm" at best. My wife ordered a grilled cheese for herself and our little girl. Again they came out lukewarm, lacking flavor, and the cheese wasn't even melted see picture. For a place called "The Baytown Melt" I would have thought for sure the cheese would have been melted. We tried this place because of the "excellent" reviews. We were highly disappointed. I'd pass on eating here.
Stopped here for dinner our first night in Sandestin. The restaurant was cute and the food was delicious. I had the Fried Brie Burger which was amazing. Service was quick and courteous.
There were few choices for dining the night my wife, granddaughter and I went to Baytowne for ice skating. We opted on this restaurant thinking there might be some gluten free salads for my wife. My wife received a salad with a vinaigrette on the side. The dressing was awful. I flagged the waiter and she asked for another dressing. It was some sort of honey mustard maybe? and it was disgusting. She opted to eat the salad with the small amount of vinegar residual from some strange marinated onions on top of the salad. Our sandwiches were okay and the sweet potato fries were very good. I thought the alcoholic drink was way overpriced considering the rustic atmosphere. I recommend that the chef taste foods before they're served. He or she would have noticed how bad these were.
We have a family of four. It was hard for us all to agree on the same restaurant to eat at until we ate at Baytown Provisions. We ate dinner there three nights in a row. It was fantastic!! Great atmosphere, service and great tasting food!! The tarter sauce is amazing!! The deserts are very tasty!! The key lime pie slices are huge and the best I have had! Everything we ate was superb!! Best place to eat in Miramar Beach!!
Seafood sampler, house made ravioli, shrimp & grits, and blue crab claws were simply amazing with delicious tarter & cockail sauces. Management was very accommodating and server was great with timing and had a natural caring presence about her. We had a great experience! Can't wait to be back!
Pros: decent happy hour, food - shrimp and grits were good Cons: food- $9 Fried crab claws, very fishy tasting and not fresh. No local restaurant should not be serving this kind of seafood. There's too much local seafood in this area to be importing from other countries. Bacon Burger - way over cooked and not very flavorful. wait staff - some nice but one very rude larger female waitress needed an attitude adjustment. Don't bring your kids here you'll be looked down upon isn't baytown family friendly??
I'm sure this is a nice place that we just had an unfortunate visit to. I ordered the brie burger and ate about 3 bites. The double patties were overcooked - essentially just two pounds of plain ground beef. The little bit of brie wasn't anything special. There weren't any spices or sauces to help it either. My husband said his seafood platter was ok. We - as well as the couple at a nearby table - agreed that the green beans were the best part. It was also super dark in the dining room. The grocery section is limited too. Again, I'm sure this place has its moments. It's awfully charming but not my favorite as far as food goes.
Went hunting for lunch with a view of the bay and Baytowne Provisions looked much more inviting than other establishments nearby. The waitress suggested their burgers and they did not disappoint. Great outdoor seating on two floors with great views of the bay and docs. Reasonably priced, solid portions, good service, and high quality ground beef! Win x4!
